I was unfortunate enough to join Lovefilm before I saw the thread. I was happy with them up until last week where suddenly I seemed to be on the 2 disc package.

I wouldn't class myself as a 'heavy' user. I only watch 1 a night or sometimes over 2 nights if it's a tv show disc.

It got even worse this week. I sent back the 3 I watched over the weekend on Monday. Today they've logged all 3 returned but have only scheduled one for shipping. If they send the other 2 out today then I'll definetly be going to Blockbuster instead.

There's no point whinging to them, it's best to just leave and make sure they know why you've left. And if they know you're about to leave they could "lose" your last discs.

They wouldnt let me, i already tried to activate my old account, no reply, joined as a new customer and got that one activated only by ringing the number.

Hi guys I just wanted to share my good trick with the dvd rental companies, I think it is great (especially if you can get at least 2 weeks free trial and nobody is charging you anything for that). This is from my experience, one way to go around and do not pay anything at all for the subscription is to circulating between 4-5 rental companies in their trial perioRAB....I am doing this already for 5 months and none of the rental shops ever found out that I just keep signing to them once every 2 months..it is just great...and with them constantly competing with each other, the price goes constantly down and the trial period is expanding....heyhey...this is a good website that compares the best of them -- > www.the-best-online-deals.com it also offers some good deals on the extended versions of the lord of the rings..dvRAB....

I really like lovefilm, and thier customer services department have been more than helpful to me in the past 3 months.

It's a great service which is relitavely cheap considering the wealth of DVRAB they stock. Also, I've been really luck in that 95% of the time I get my top 3 choices.

If I get ones lower down the list that I don't feel like watching, I just keep it until I do. That's the beauty of no fines! I realise that's probably stopping somebody getting their fist choice, but I think... sod em.

:)

Did you really mean this;

"If they send the other 2 out today then I'll definetly be going to Blockbuster instead"

your gonna cancel if they provide you with a service that really is a new one on me!! :confused:

That's the drawback of the all-you-can-eat system. I've tried (and paid for) renting from several internet companies, but ended up cancelling because I never got round to watching all the films. Maybe Amazon would be a better bet.

i have had no problems with blockbusters, except when one dvd didn't show up but once reported as lost in post they imendently sent another one from my list.

I started out with mailbox movies who i have to say had a very fast turnaround, however i rarely got the films at the top of my list.

I switched to Movie chocies (now merged with Lovefilm) and i have found it to be excellent i nearly always get the films from the top of my list and the turn around is superb, i must add that the service seems to only have improved since the merger.

I am however considering cancelling and trying blockbuster next month, their 3 disc rental is
