Hello All,

I'm basically at my wits end, so I am going to be as detailed as possible about this itchiness because I don't know what is related or not.

It began early April. I had a very bad yeast infection. I treated it with Monistat 3 and it seemed to go away. Two days later, it was back. I went and saw an OBGYN and she gave me Diflucan. The symptoms cleared up and then occurred again a week later. Again, I went on Diflucan and again it cleared up and came back. My third dose of Diflucan was split up into three doses separated by a few days each. It was after the first pill in this series that I began to itch. It began on my thighs, but quickly went EVERYWHERE! I called my primary physician and he prescribed me terazole cream. The yeast infection went away, the itching all over did not.

I stopped taking all medications at this point besides my birth control pills. By June, I was still itching so I made an appointment with my doctor. He did all sorts of blood test (LFT, CBC, ect.). All these came back negative so I got an allergy test. My food allergies came back negative, but I had all sorts of respiratory allergies (hayfever, ragweed, trees, dogs, dust, ect.). I was sent to an allergist who said I have dermatographism and he prescribed me Allegra (180mg once daily). The Allegra had no effect on my itching. Neither did claritin, benadryl, or atarax. However, he bumped up my Allegra to two pills a day and atarax every 4-6 hours as needed. It has been a few weeks now and still there are no changes!!!

I read that itching skin could be a symptom of a systemic yeast infection (I have had another mild one since the first was finally cleared up), but I am not sure. My doctor claims it is allergy related. HELP ME!!! I was going to do the yeast free diet, but I had nothing to eat and it was so hard! I am so sick of itching, so I am looking forward to what you all have to say.

ANother point, I have no rashes, dry skin, or anything. Sometimes I do notice very small raised flesh colored bumps together near where I begin to itch, but not always.

Looking forward to hearing from you!

Oh I am so sorry.Did you actually see a dematologist?I know you said you saw an allergist.Cut out sugar from your dietbread and crackers and yeasty fooRAB.Any kind of simple carbohydrate will turn into sugar in your body as far as I know.Garlic is of grat wonders.Sliced raw garlic on butter bread is a good way to get rrid of parasitic infectios.i actually grew garlic this year ad quite a bit of it.i have been thrwing it into everything. There are many good books on candidas and food allergies.research intensley.Have you been checked for odd coditions like lymphomas,Hodgkins and some blood conditions.I am sure that tiredness, paleness and other symptoms would go along with those, and I heard that the feet will itch intenesely, especially in the evening.can you have developed a allergy to your birth control pill? Are your birth control pills colored any??Pink-blue,green?anything like that.Sometimes our pills come from different drug companies even though they are the same prescription.see,I get generic drugs. My insuranse will not payfor brand name drugs unless it has no generic. So basically i get all generic. The genric drugs come from different companies.Sometimes you can go for months getting pills from the same drug maker, then out of no where it will change and come from a differet manufacturer. It will say who they come from on small print on the bottle. My point here is that they might be putting different fillers, dyes, ect in the meRAB.Also, have you changed any of your laundry detergents. If you have a boyfriend has he changed detergents, soaps, any products??Either of you??Itching doesnt sound like a big health problem but it is AWFUL to the person it is happening to.I had a friend about 4 years ago she had something similar.her entire body itched immensely. It started out slow, and then progressed over a peripod of weeks to horrid.Doctors ever found out the cause. We think it was stress related. Some sort of anxiety in a asense. Her doctors gave her this liquid medicine that began with an H.Dont remeraber exactly. It came in a bottle like cough syrup and was clear. It made her tired and she slept vwry well.it also cleared up the itching within a few days.I would see another specialist.itching will drive you absolutely nutts!I feel for you and hope so much you get better.

Benadryl did nothing for me,

but....Equate after sun aloe vera (over the counter) has some lidocaine in it. helps me for a while to get me thru the day. good luck.

Has anyone found a remedy for this? I have had a severe all over itch since atleast Septeraber (maybe August)... and its now almost the new year... I seriously cant take this intense itch anymore! Please someone help! My doctor has no idea and dermatologist dont know.. at first they thought i had scabies back in Septeraber but i did all the treatments for that over and over and nothing has helped my itch. I have even tried calamine lotion, unscented everything, no perfumes.. and still no help! Yes i am on alot of medicines but none that changed around that time and all the meRAB that the dr gives me to try to help the itch do NOT work! Ive tried many different ones and even taking multiple benadryl or whatever other meRAB does nothing for the itch! I just wanna scream and cry because the itch is all over my body and never stops but definitely gets worst at night. ... please someone help me! im beyond wits end and im begging for help!:(

Have you been checked for a latex allergy? Latex is everywhere. For the longest time I had unidentified skin rashes, some were even biopsied by a dermatoligist, and nothing worked. Then I was tested for latex allergy which has now progressed to being air born. Just being in the same room as a balloon or an open box of latex gloves causes breathing difficulties and my body to itch. Latex comes in many forms and depending on the chemicals it was mixed with while being produced. I know if I have touched something with latex or breathed it because I start to itch and burn. So I have to leave the room and wash my hanRAB. I also found out my bed was full of latex which made things worse at night.

Mine was a result of kidney disease - get a lab test (CBC and urine test) to rule that out.

I hate to think of you taking all those medications. Since doctors aren't helping you much, you might try eliminating dairy and gluten products. Start taking probiotic supplements to help you deal with yeast. And avoid sugar. Killing yeast doesn't do much good unless you also prevent it from coming back.
