Bill,
On someone else's post you asked about my interest in lymes...I will answer you here so as not to hijack someone else's thread/topic.
My interest in Lyme is quite long and involved but for the sake of brevity I will say:
1. I live in a high risk state which (from what I can gather) has been more proactive than other areas of the country educating professionals and the public about lyme. It is not uncommon for a doctor here to consider lyme when other conditions have been screened for and show little/nothing.
2. I have reason to believe that I knew personally some of the first people in the country diagnosed with this condition, and from their experience I am aware of the devastating damage that can occur when Lyme goes untreated. So I do what I can to make others aware of this condition because permenant damage can be prevented if treated soon enough!!
3. The side effects that I experienced with blood pressure medication affected many of my body systems...weakness, dizziness, fainting, visual disturbances, problems with balance, nutritional deficiencies, sleep problems, restless legs, mood problems, memory problems, respiratory attacks, the list goes on and on and on...so in the past 2 years I've been reading the boards trying to find answers to my own issues. But in doing so, I've also seen patterns/themes emerging from some of the regular posters.
I am far from an expert...not even an amateur...but hopefully I can make others aware of possibilities they may not have considered.
And as far as my symptoms go, they disappeared entirely within 24 hours-6 weeks after I stopped taking the offending medication.
Before I go, I would just like to say several things...
1. These boards contain a wealth of information...some is accurate, some is not. Consider the suggestions but do your own homework! Do not believe ANYTHING you read here without checking it out for yourself. Although in one post you questioned your intelligence, I do not!!! You underestimate your abilities based on what I've read of your posts.
2. Keep an open mind...even though you may get a diagnoses of "whatever", it may not be the correct diagnosis. Many people on these boards spend alot of time and money treating the symptoms, because they (and their doctors) don't look further for the cure.
3. Doctors don't know everything...and even if they do, they make mistakes.
Well, I've gone on too long. Again, I wish you the very, very best!
