Indiana Jones IV

The whole LaBeouf/franchise thing has been much discussed in the last day or two. The general consensus seems to be that GL is either a) Messing with people, b) Deluded or c) Mental.

I agree 100 percent. Heroes tend to look better, work better when they're reasonably young. There's no logical reason to make a new IJ film with an old Ford - age 65 when filming this new movie. The prime reason for making this is financial, any other reason given by Spielberg and Lucas is hogwash. Example:

Ford hasn't had a big hit for sometime and it will also improve Paramount's profits. As for a fifth movie, Ford will be getting close to 70! If the next movie is in two or three years time, Ford will be 68 or 69. I think they should call it quits with this movie.

Temple of Doom may be VERY lame in places but it's still a better film than Crystal Skull. It's sad that we've got to the stage where it's impossible for truly fantastic films to be made. There's way too much crap that comes with filmmaking now. They all end up looking like TV shows with a huge effects budget.

I guess so, But why do movie
aliens
always have to look the same?

As soon as they opened up the
Roswell
coffin I spent the rest of the film looking at it like a poor episode of the XFiles.

Never heard of Erik Von Danniken btw.

I think you are absolutely spot on there. Just got back from seeing it a second time and I bloody loved after just liking it the first. I think it was because I went in knowing the tone and style to expect and didn't spend half the movie adjusting to that.

Just seen it, and to be honest I was bored......
Why does it seem that George Lucas` stories now seem like poor relations to his originals.
It was very predicatable and with the script being worked on for years this should have been miles better, but ended up like something you`d have expected from the late 80`s early 90`s sequal farms of Hollywood.

I know how a lot of you feel in 1989 I though the film was really bad.

I was not expecting much from this new one but I got a pleasant surprise.

The jokes the action and the effects all spot on I love this new one.

I really hated the Last Crusade and I really loved this one.

The bit with the little rodents looking at the rocket was very funny.

The chase on the bike was very well done.

I think this is like the last one you will either love it or hate it.

Some of the reviews I have read are just silly this is a fun adventure film if you want deep meaning and emotions go see another film.

Indeed. I kind of go from finding her quite endearing in some watchings to wanting to slap her in others. Usually, the urge to slap prevails! ;)

I thought The Last Crusade was a very good film, though Raiders of the Lost Ark will always be the best! I remember seeing the opening of the ark scene as a kid and it giving me nightmares! :o Very cool scene, though. :)

I did enjoy it (not a touch on the original three), but the ending was really lame. I couldn't believe what I was watching. It was also abit too quick for me, I wanted more scenes of Indy camping out in the jungle at night having nice friendly chats with the others etc. I'm probably not making sense now and sound really lame!

If you feel that way, go see The Forbidden Kingdom when it opens in the UK July 11th. It contains all the magic missing from so many family adventure films, IMO. Totally feels like classic Spielberg. :)
