Income up 35%, make 8.9 billion in 6 months, cut 25,000 jobs!

im in favor of adult supervision in government.

the kind that has been missing for a long time. I completely disagree with the assertion that capture theory is a "natural" result of this sort of thing. what you need is a new class of people who are very good bureaucrats who hold people accountable, and also have a firm grasp on the ethics needed to be in charge...and to live up to them.

just because we don't create good bureaucrats in this country doesn't mean it can't be done.

Because they are apparently too stupid to work for a better company. We already know they are too stupid to start their own company and work for themselves.

Why you can't fathom that is beyond me.

Pretty much. I'm sure if they were rich, they could start their own bank ... or if THEIR mom or pop owned the bank, they could work as an underling (ie nepotism), but by and large, in the banking industry now, you will be working for someone else and run the risk of being fucked over by that business.

It's a choice because you can leave that industry and do something else for a living. PLENTY of people are changing industries now. Hell, I was watching some show on Food Network last night and there was a guy who was a banker who left the industry a couple years ago and now is a professional chef.

The choice, ultimately is the worker.

If you are in banking and are too stupid to learn another trade or work for another bank, then consider yourself lucky you got a job in banking in the first place.

Exactly!

man.

no taxes ?check
no personal liability? check

steal resources from earth? check

extract profit from workers? check

drink michelob ultra by the pool? check +

FUCK YEAH

I really haven't.

My point is that average working people who vote to ensure that the system we have in place today continues not logical people.

Just as it would be illogical for a business to lobby congress for higher taxes, it is also illogical for average working people to cast their votes for people who would continue the system we have now.

You realize that corp, don't exist right?
People pay taxes. Be it less wage income, higher prices, lower stock/dividenRAB, etc.

why would you want it more indirect? Isn't it better if you knew exactly how much your tax bill was, instead of paying hidden taxes.

excuse me?

are you seriously going to tell me that companies don't figure the tax rate into their overhead projections?

or that companies don't have an idea of what kind of volume they are going to do in a given year?

this is why you have the sec being blinRABided by the financial crisis, and the Minerals Management division being way understaffed.

its my country too, and i prefer to not see it completely turned over to reckless profit driven goons.

but its a bit late for that.

You mean like certain minorities who keep voting for one political group, no matter what, even when that political group has fucked them over and kept them basically "enslaved" for decades, and have done very little to actually assist them in raising them out of their situation, but rather have done everything they can to keep them where they are so they can be kept as "loyal voters"?

Gratz Tom, your eyes are opening up.

There is nothing to hate. You simply cannot grasp the simple concepts of a department is losing money and cuts need to be made.

There is no resentment to be had. It is simply how it works.

You have no argument other than "it isn't right to do" which isn't an argument at all. You simply do not understand how businesses operate.
