(in your opinion) the most underrated shows in animation

So are there any cartoons out there you liked but didn't get much popularity?
For me I currently think whatever happeend to robot jones and dave the barbarian. Robot jones was a pretty cute show actually IMO. Too bad it only got two seasons. And why all the hate for dave the barbarian? it was a pretty funny show actually in my opinion.

Dave was a bomb from the get-go. No one cared enough for that, Brandy and Mr. Whiskers, or The Buzz on Maggie to even bother whether these shows died or not.

Those three are Disney's most non-promotionalized, no merchandise money makers. Had Disney made merchandise for these series or cared to have them on DVD, the kids would had came in droves for these series. However, Disney cares too much for their live-action empire to even bother with these miniscule shows.

I noticed that I just said "Miniscule" and that is another animated show that a lot of people even me did not care about when it first appeared on Disney Channel. Never before had I had seen a mini-series of shorts that could bore me as much as knowing that Disney could had done A Bug's Life animated series rather than depend on second-rate companies releasing shows like this to Oliver Twist cable networks. By Oliver Twist, Disney is so poor that it reminds me of Twist wanting more of his supper at the orphanage and this is what I describe this company: they're poor in the heart and soul of animation yet it brought out some good shows that couldn't get pass the "how can we get money out of this franchise" stage.

Am Drag, SRMTHFG! and the other shows listed above deserved more than what Disney gave/didn't give to them but hey they're all dead now but I wish that someone can re-tool them, give them series finales that are long overdue, and while caring about the merchandise and how to sell the shows to kids, whoever re-tools them should never forget to make these shows funnier and just make them better. I bet a lot of people could probably come up with reasons these shows could had been better.

Discuss about these shows amongst your friends.

The Beverly Hills Teens, The CB Bears, The Harlem Globetrotters and even The Roman Holidays for the win. Oh, and The Hair Bear Bunch.

Care to explain why?

I still think Ed, Edd and Eddy is incredibly underrated. It deserves a lot more attention than it's gotten over the years. The last two seasons look fantastic, it's art style is practically one of a kind and it's humor is hilarious. I know it took people a long time to warm up to the show, but it deserves more attention than it actually gets. It's a shame it's over.

Nobody even knows about Clone High. It's got such a witty and smart humor and good character build.

And that season finale with no ending is killing me inside. >:C

I liked Dave the Barbarian, one of the only new cartoons I found funny.

I remember liking Courage the Cowardly dog when I had CW years ago, I don't hear much about it from people though.

And OK this is a film but I think Basil the Great Mouse Detective is one of the best Disney films yet hardly ANYONE mentions it, and certainly don't mention it when talking about Disney. I think it is a classic in my eyes.

Time Squad, Robot Jones, and Mike Lu and Og. I thought that they all were fun shows. Its a shame that they only lasted a few years.

I agree so much with this post. Clone High was incredibly awesome, but I don't remember anybody, except for my best friend and my sister, ever mentioning the show. Although there was this one time at my high school where I overheard some stoners having the following exchange:
"I heard there was some show on Teletoon where the people smoke raisins."
"What the hell? That's so stupid. You can't even smoke raisins."
"Yeah, I know. It's so stupid. It wouldn't even do anything."
"Yeah, seriously... God... So stupid."

>.< They completely missed the joke.

I actually enjoyed Miniscule every much. It's amazing sense of realism dragged me in and (sometimes) made me laugh. Does Disney still do them?

I think I'll add in "Megas XLR" here. I loved it. I thought it was a fine spoof of every "giant robot" cartoon ever made (not to mention occasional shots at Sailor Moon and others). I admit that I saw quite a bit of myself in the bumbling hero, Coop (we both wear oversized belt buckles at least). :p

But it didn't catch on or attract a mainstream audience or whatever. Too bad. Any cartoon whose title song went: "Chicks dig giant robot cars" is a winner in my book. :D

OH and Sheep in the Big City. That also had a lot of smart humor to it. It spoofed general cartoon writing and plot twists without overdoing it and forcing themselves to break the fourth wall, like Billy & Mandy.

GENERAL SPECIFIC IS HARDCORE DO NOT DISAGREE.

I'm gonna throw my hat in for The Replacements. OK, so the character design takes a bit of getting used to, but I like the good mix of characters (Dick Daring seems eerily like early Homer Simpson to me) and the storylines are also pretty good. But for me, the best part is the music. A kind of adventure/spy/sixties beat that plays throughout the show. There are also plenty of intelligent jokes in there as well. I haven't seen any of the second season but this show seems incredibly underrated compared to some of the other generic stuff that's out there.

I completely agree. The show is starting get a larger fanbase which is good but still. I hontely think it deserves so much more. top notch animation, funny, tradional animation aswell, good characters. what more can you ask?
