Best = Gabriel Martin - Heath Ledger in The Patriot (Rest in Peace, Heath)
Leonardo DiCaprio - Billy Costigan - in The Departed
Matt Damon - Colin Sullivan in The Departed

Worst = One that comes to mind is Patrick Swayze in Too Wong Foo, Thanks for Everything Julie Newmar!
Ken Kirzinger - Jason Voorhees in Freddy vs Jason. He does not even compare to the greatness of Kane Hodder!

Good: Angelica Houston in Ever After, she really did an excellent job in that role.
Bad: Denise Richards in The World Is Not Enough, I can't even remember anything she did or said in that movie, the most forgettable preformance I can think of.
And also George Clooney in Batman, he wasn't awful but its hard to watch such a tripe movie while George is supposedly the main star, he couldn't pull it off.

lindsay lohan is the worst actress. all she is good in is disney movies anything else shes terrible.. i seen her in georgia rule she played a stuck up skank .. go figure and she was in bobby .. just another terrible role .

I also can't stand Rachel Leigh Cook. In everything that I've ever seen her in, she's always so 'blah'.

Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson - Wedding Crashers
Actually the whole cast, really.

Chris Tucker and Jackie Chan - Rush Hour Movies
Hysterical duo.

Joaquin Phoenix in Walk The Line
Loved him and thought he was brilliant.

Natalie Portman and Ashely Judd in Where The Heart Is
Perfection. They fit their roles perfectly and made that movie fabulous.

Heath Ledger in Dark Knight
Batman who? To me, The Joker, was the movie. Performance of a life time and he MADE that movie.

Richard Gere and Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman
Enough said. :)

Worst:

Kirsten Dunst in Spiderman

I didn't mind her in the first one. But in the ones that followed, her characterization was different, at least to me.

I have to agree with the casting for Lois in Superman. Kate Bosworth was dreadful. They should have given the part to Rose Byrne.

Best Casting:

Rachel McAdams in Mean Girls. She was brilliant!
Rachel McAdams and Cillian Murphy together in Red Eye. Ingenious, who woulda think they would work so well together.
Naomi Watts and Ed Norton together in The Painted Veil. Ditto with these two.
Ed Norton in Fight Club. No words.
The ensemble cast in Little Miss Sunshine.
Seth Rogen and Katherine Heigl in Knocked Up. Hilarious!
Seth Rogen and Elizabeth Banks in Zack and Miri Make a Porno.
Bradley Cooper, Ed Helms, and Zach Galifianakis in The Hangover.

Worst Casting:

Katie Holmes in Batman Begins.
Eric Bana and Drew Barrymore together in Lucky You. Zero chemistry.
Eric Bana, Scarlett Johannsson, and Natalie Portman in The Other Boleyn Girl.
Vince Vaughn in Psycho.
Hilary Swank in P.S. I Love You.
Jennifer Lopez and Ralph Fiennes together in Maid in Manhattan.

Then again you really have to ask why anybody thought remaking Psycho would be a good idea (and also why people would want to colour old movies, but that's another thing altogether)... Hollywood at its derivative 'best'. And about Vince Vaughn - well if Anthony Perkins was forever overshadowed by his role as Norman Bates I wonder how they thought anyone else could be equally capable. Oh, I don't know. I try to pretend the remake doesn't exist.

A lot of people have said Halle Berry as Storm. I liked her in the first two movies, but not in the third. However, a lot of my dislike may have to do with the awful wig. Her X2 was just fine.

Best Casting

Johnny Depp as Jack Sparrow in The Pirates Of The Caribbean.
Brendan Lee as Eric Draven in The Crow.
Heath Ledger as The Joker in Dark Knight.
Rutger Hauer as John Ryder in The Hitcher.
Bruce Campbell as Ash in Evil Dead.
Tobey Maguire as Peter Parker in Spiderman.
Denzel Washing and Tom Hanks in Philadelphia.

Worst Casting

Sean Bean as John Ryder in The Hitcher.
Keria Knightley as Elizabeth in The Pirates Of The Caribbean.
Kirsten Dunst as Mary Jean in Spiderman.

Bad:
I've only enjoyed Kiera Knightly in one movie that I've seen her in. I didn't much care for her in POTC. She absolutely ruined Pride and Prejudice for me.

I like Kirsten Dunst, but I think that there could have been someone better in the role of Mary Jane in the Spiderman Trilogy.

I did not like Halle Barry's portrayal of Storm.

Best: I have to agree with the majority here, Catherine Zeta Jones as Velma Kelly was genius (and the only movie that I absolutely adore her in--which says a lot about how perfectly cast she was).
Johnny Depp as Jack Sparrow--no one else could have created that character and pulled it off. The cast of the Brady Bunch parodies.
Vince Vaughn in Clay Pigeons--he plays crazy killer perfectly
Alicia Silverstone in Clueless--Looked the part and gave the character heart
Reese Witherspoon in Election--I can't imagine anyone else in her role

Also as far as classic films go: Vivien Leigh in Gone with the Wind (Really the entire cast was perfect) and James Dean in Rebel Without a Cause.

Worst Casting:

As much as I absolutely LOVE Nicole Kidman--I'd have to agree about Cold Mountain, reading the book she wasn't at all the person I pictured in the role. She pulled it off somewhat, but still was a bit misplaced.

Heather Graham in From Hell--the girl can't act.

Kirsten Dunst in the Spiderman movies--just dull.

Man, it's a lot easier to think of the good.

Good: Johnny Depp as Jack Sparrow. Johnny is Jack and Jack is Johnny. No one else could've played that part.
Keira Knightley as Elizabeth Bennet. Keira was inspired as Lizzie. IMHO, she made the character more alive.

Bad: Kate Bosworth as Lois Lane. Her and Brandon Routh had zero chemistry.

Best

Alan Rickman-As Professor Snape in HP. No one could have played him as well as Alan.
Johnny Depp-In basically anything he's in. Especially as Jack Sparrow.
Emma Watson- As Hermione, whenever I read the books I imagine Emma's Hermione
Rupert Grint- Ditto as Ron
Gerard Butler- In Phantom of the Opera. He bought a sexiness to the role and his chemistry with Emmy Rossum was amazing. :thud:
Viggo Mortensen- I still can't believe his was cast so late.
Jamie Bell- Billy Elliot
Elijah Wood- LOTR
Kate Winslet-Titanic, Finding Neverland and Sense and Sensibility
Rachel McAdams- The Notebook, Red Eye and Wedding Crashers
Colin Firth- Pride and Prejudice

Worst

Kirsten Dunst- Spiderman 2 & 3. I actually quite liked her in the first Spideman but not in the last two.
Kevin Costner- Robin Hood
Lindsay Lohan- I don't like her as an actress in anything that she's been in

Best:
Jack nickleson as Jack Torrence in the Shining. He had the whole crazy vibe and he mad eit believeable with his emotions being able to be this lonley and angry man and at the same time be curious about what was happening to him he truley owned that role and i dont think anyone else could ever play that chracter.
Frances McDormand as Elaine Miller in Almost Famous - nobody could replace her with her kind heart and neourtic mind she did this role its justice.

cant think of any worst at the moment
