on the one hand, i KNOW getting any phone call after test results can be a wee bit scarey here, on the other, at least they ARE trying to stay on top of things here "for you'. much better than testing something, finding something and NOT bothering to even follow up on stuff as some patients DO experience? so they(the innocent patient) 'assumes" everything is okay when its not type of thing. thats even scarier in my book. people will generally 'believe' if they do not hear anything after some type of test that everything is okay, and that alone can lead to progression of certain conditions that if they simply HAD BEEN told, would never even have gotten THAT progressed or bad? so this IS a good thing for you in THAT way hon.
just exactly what got tested and how(what type of actual testing was used?) and what did they tell you over the phone?
since the VA simply even HAS/sees female patients at all, they would simply have to also have/FIND a gyn type doc to take care of very certain 'parts' there too ya know? i am sure if you simply 'asked around' or they may even have already given you the name of a good OB/GYN, they DO have someone you can see there? the VA simply HAS TO accomodate what makes up the patient load somehow. you simply DO have the right to 'appropriate" medical care just like anyone else, and even moreso in just what YOU decided to "give" here, which by the way thank you very much there hon.
i am soo hoping that things are not overly involved for you. just see who they tell you to see and ALWAYS obtain ANY copies of any and all testing results as well(anything done previous and anything in the future from here too). just for YOUR own records too. trust me, it can matter(sometimes more than you think) in hearing what any doc "tells" you and what YOU actually see/read in your very own test results. been there done THAT one like to death here myself with wayyy too many like MRIs and bloodwork too.
just follow up with what they tell you and also PLEASE do keep me posted hon. at least they ARE on top of this and not just allowing YOU to drop thru the lil cracks in the system. with some conditions/situations, the sooner any treatment options are simply given and started, the better the outcome for the patient? for right now tho, your main goal is finding out just exactly why they called and what simply IS goin on in there. good luck with this, FB
