In pain and don't know what to do...

Thank you very much for your concern.
I finally got in to the doctor today. Kidney stones and ovarian cysts. At least they found something and I don't feel like a crazy person. :dizzy:
Got some pain medication(Lorcet 10/650), and just have to wait for everything to pass/rupture... I'm afraid to pee now!

Thanks again, Everyone!

I have had very severe throbbing abdominal pain and stabbing back pain since last night. The pain kept me up most of the night. Any idea what's going on?

i am glad you did follow this up hon. one thing here? while kidney stones DO usually have to 'pass' kind of on their own, or most of, kind of depends upon the overall size of the stone and what IS even possible to actually pass thru the ureter which brings it out of the kidney and into the bladder? this can feel almost as bad as childbirth since the utreter has to keep "contracting" in order for it to 'push' that stone downwards to the bladder for it to even expel(had one of these buggers from HE** about ten years ago myself)itself then out from the bladder to the outside?

what I am concerned about here moreso is that they did not refer you to a really good OB to monitor these cysts at all, or you did not mention that part? the fact you even have ovarian cysts just really NEEDS to be much more better defined, esp if there are more than one and possibly in both ovarys too? there just are certain types of cyctic diseases like polycystic ovary dissease/syndrome that will keep creating these cysts no matter what you actually do, even having them drained? these types of cysts WILL once again fill right back up with fluid if this is PCOS(polycystic ovarian syndrome?)

while i do not know alot about the cysts being inthe ovaries(i did have some issues there way back shortly after i started my period and have one cyst ON my R ovary now too?) i DO have what is called polycystic kidney disease in my kidneys and liver, and the one sitting "on" one ovary and in what is called the 'psoas' muscle even in the lower side/back on my L side as well? these lil buggers can and have in me anyways, managed to pop up in some of the strangest dang places. but all are contained within my abdominal somewhere, and IN specific organs/muscle.

i just would get this cystic ovary situation much better defined at this point and DO NOT simply 'wait" til they pop since they will and can create some pretty hellish levels of pain if they do(along with a possible infection IN the ovary itself), and also create other major complications depending on how really impactful they simply are too(some of these, esp when inth the ovaries can fill with blood, both "normal" and 'old blood" that was never actually expelled with a period? they actually call these 'chocolate cysts only because old blood tends to be brown in color? this IS what i had in mine)? while this may just be some very 'simple cysts" you have there, it also could be more of the type of syndrome(or other conditions that simply DO create cystic formations in us) i mentioned too. this is just one of those things you DO need to find out the true real cause for the creation of in you in the first place. i would very much seek out a good OB/GYN for the best possible eval of what these are being created from. you just really DO need to know that part.

while i AM really glad you at least found 'something' there that actually does explain ALOT as to why you are having so much pain. i am sorry you have to deal with THIS type of crap at all hon. just make sure to follow up with a good OB for the best possible care and any treatment that they just can actually do now for this stuff too. you just really do NOT want these types of cysts to have a lil "pop fest" in your ovary hon, trust me on THAT one.

good luck with this stuff and DO please keep me posted, K? FB

Thank you for all of that information. I didn't know any of that. I'm being treated at a VA hospital, so my options for an OB are limited. I'll do my best.

just exactly 'where" is this pain located? in the upper abdominal or lower? it DOES matter. if this IS indeed more upper vs lower GI, i would most definitely get thee to an ER for at least some type of scan to simply rule out one of the more life threatening things like a triple A occuring? and abdominal aortic aneurysm when it is enlarging or ready to burst WILL give you both upper abdominal and upper back pain as well, this would be something that absolutley would need ruling in or out the sooner the better.

but depending upon just where these pains are, the mere fact you are feeling both back and abdominal pain really does up the need for a quicker Dx and any treatment given. there just are things that can occur, such as the triple As or the kidney stones that can create like a 'front and back" type of pain that need to be more quickly Dxed since some would involve vascular issues and other possibles usually involving actual organs since the pain is front and back and not 'only' one or the other? it just usually means that a much larger area is involved in whatever is the underlying generator of the actual pain? this just IS one of those better safe than sorry types of situations?

either way, i would defintiely get to an ER to simply have some specific scans and full evaluation there and not at any mere docs office where they cannot actually 'do' for you what is just possible with testing at any given hospital? i do hope this is more minor than major for you. please let us know what you find out, K? good luck, FB

Soooo... I just got a phone call from the hospital I was at yesterday. They got some test results and are referring me to another hospital. They want me in ASAP... I hate this.

on the one hand, i KNOW getting any phone call after test results can be a wee bit scarey here, on the other, at least they ARE trying to stay on top of things here "for you'. much better than testing something, finding something and NOT bothering to even follow up on stuff as some patients DO experience? so they(the innocent patient) 'assumes" everything is okay when its not type of thing. thats even scarier in my book. people will generally 'believe' if they do not hear anything after some type of test that everything is okay, and that alone can lead to progression of certain conditions that if they simply HAD BEEN told, would never even have gotten THAT progressed or bad? so this IS a good thing for you in THAT way hon.

just exactly what got tested and how(what type of actual testing was used?) and what did they tell you over the phone?

since the VA simply even HAS/sees female patients at all, they would simply have to also have/FIND a gyn type doc to take care of very certain 'parts' there too ya know? i am sure if you simply 'asked around' or they may even have already given you the name of a good OB/GYN, they DO have someone you can see there? the VA simply HAS TO accomodate what makes up the patient load somehow. you simply DO have the right to 'appropriate" medical care just like anyone else, and even moreso in just what YOU decided to "give" here, which by the way thank you very much there hon.

i am soo hoping that things are not overly involved for you. just see who they tell you to see and ALWAYS obtain ANY copies of any and all testing results as well(anything done previous and anything in the future from here too). just for YOUR own records too. trust me, it can matter(sometimes more than you think) in hearing what any doc "tells" you and what YOU actually see/read in your very own test results. been there done THAT one like to death here myself with wayyy too many like MRIs and bloodwork too.

just follow up with what they tell you and also PLEASE do keep me posted hon. at least they ARE on top of this and not just allowing YOU to drop thru the lil cracks in the system. with some conditions/situations, the sooner any treatment options are simply given and started, the better the outcome for the patient? for right now tho, your main goal is finding out just exactly why they called and what simply IS goin on in there. good luck with this, FB
