My in-laws are always having dinner parties and other get-togethers. The problem is that my husband works a lot and can't go, but they still expect me to attend without him. I don't enjoy attending these things without him; especially if we have already spent time with the in-laws that week, or we are going to see them on the weekend anyway (that's the other thing -- they want to see us like 2-3 times a week and get offended if we see them "only" once a week). If I say, "Oh, I'm sorry, husband is working so we can't come / I don't want to come without him" they get really offended.
Am I obligated to go without him for the sake of peace?
Or do I just let them be offended and not care?
Or any better way of handling this?
