It's a risk / reward. You can line up in more a shotgun spread style formation and then have the "QB" drop and the "RB / K" kick. This leaves fewer defenders for a block attempt. Or if the Wideouts aren't covered, throw to them.
However, I disagree, I think if executed properly it could be just as fast as an extra point if the K is using a two step high-arc style.
I agree that a normal Extra Point Attempt or Field Goal is more secure but thinking outside the box.
