Peppermint Patty and Marcie weren't lesbians; that's just become a popular joke among stand-up comedians and pop-culture satirists. Schulz never implied nor intended for the 2 of them to ever be lovers.

It did, but you have to keep in mind that the Titan characters were older in the comics then they were portrayed on the TV show. Slade/Terra on TV would've been pedophilia, which is a big no-no on kids' TV.
