because ive spent the majority of my life sticking up for the proletariat
only to be stabbed in the back with willful ignorance

now i realize why we cant trust these people with too much power.

Presidents are like QBs. Always more blame when things go down, usually more accolades than deserved when they're up.

Nixon and the media ruined that job

no, if they could drill in AK they would be drilling in AK AND 5000 feet deep in the ocean.

yep.

You know, any of them sound good to me. Whoever has the most experience with this type of situation, maybe someone from the interior department if they delt with past issues. They name a Czar for everything, they haven't named a spill Czar yet?

and so does this guy

but agreed with the OP
BP and the like employ the smartest geo engineers in the world

Okay, cleanup is different, anyone can clean up, the spill itself needs to be engineers that have a clue what they're doing

because its a real problem
and the government only knows how to deal with imaginary problems
hence the war on drugs

what im afraid of...is the possibility of certain measures beng ruled out because they close the well off for future drilling

exactly my point ... why do you expect the government to do something ... What can politicians do about it - let's put them in a diving suit so they can go down there and put a plug in

I honestly don't know. I haven't much kept up with the situation. disasters and crises in the media are harder and harder to keep track of the older I get, because it is just too difficult to wade through the bullshit of media and public opinion to find actual facts out.

For all I know there IS a single person/office in charge, but they just haven't been made known to the public. Which for me is fine - because in the end, whoever that Head Honcho your looking for is will really just become a scape goat for mismanagement/problems/failures/etc.

There is no win in creating a public figurehead for this issue.

But they are down there doing things in support of BP and independantly. The coast guard is there, NOAA is there, Dept of Interior, Dept of Energy. They are all down there. All are executive departments, under the presidents authority. Who is running the response?
