Im Not Being Funny, Right...

My friend, I know what a Rave review is... Your definition is WAY, WAY, WAY off the mark. SO why say it, if your that intelligent? To make your argument sound more potent? You dont get rave reviews from colleagues. You get them from critics, you idiot. Exaggerating. Thats all your good at.

So, where are your details about the Bale/Mum thing from? Its obviously some American Magazine site, given you copy and pasted the word "Mom."

If you believe that, then your gullible. You probably also believe Wikipedia word for word.

Sadly, the only thing I am interested in is cold hard facts, like statements from the police stating he has been released on bail. The fact that he has been released on Bail means he HAS done something wrong, or "pending further inquiries."

Now your argument doesnt seem so solid, does it?

I beg your pardon? You tell me exactly where I said "he died because he was a drug user..."

I didnt say that. Once again, petty minded people coming here and twisting what I am saying.

If you cant get it right, STAY OUT OF IT!

I found that article today, after Id posted this thread last night.

What you getting touchy for? You gutted you couldnt be cast in Brokeback Mountain 2 with him? Christ!

I have researched my (spelling lesson coming up here) ARGUMENT, unfortunately for you. He was a drug user. The things he had, are drugs, believe it or not. And to have that many drugs shows a serious problem to me. I believe doxylamine, diazepam, temazepam and oxycodone were found on him/in him, along with more. If they were found in him, then he didnt exactly OD on "Sleeping Pills" as you claim... but given that your Mr. Research master, then we must bow down to your superior intelligence, and agree with your ignorant and rather sensitive views.

In no way did I imply that he died with a needle in his arm. YOUR implying that I said that.

When you have quite finished having a go at me for something I havent done, get off your high horse, apologize, and Ill accept it.

In the mean time, think about this. At least one person has agreed with what Ive said in here, along with Jonathan Ross. And the fact that many of you are blind to the fact this film wasnt going to do much else than have a Special Edition DVD come out at Christmas is unbelievable.

You quite honestly have no grasp on the film industry as a whole, and what the people behind the curtain will do to make their product big.

If it was going to be big, why would they cast Christian Bale in the friggin' film, for crying out loud!? Id have cast someone a lot more high profile, and with a lot more talent. He is one of the worst actors Ive seen!

Sure, it had a decent sized budget (some $180,000,000?) but Im telling you, you could have cast the High School Musical Cast with Heath Ledger as the Joker, and it still would have broke recorRAB, simply because of the name "Batman" and the death of Heath Ledger.

People who argue different really arent impartial to this whole discussion. And to be honest, many of you sound like teenage girls still crying at his death.

Im not knocking the guy. Good actor. But did he really portray that roll better than Jack Nicholson back in the late 80's?

If Jack had died when that was being made, it would have been bigger than it ever was.

If Adam Sandler died during Click, it would have been bigger than it was.

Hell, if Jonathan Ross died after filming his show, it'd be the biggest rated programme youve seen! Why? Because your wanting to be a part of history, in seeing his "final" performance.

Re: 2Legit2Quit.

Im not on about the 1960's remake, but the '89 film starring Nicholson and Keaton among others.

I may have gone a little overboard with the "remake" word, but thats all I see these films as attempting to be.

The word "Sequel" is exhausted, so these writers and actors go to find something old, but new. Old "Batman." New phenomena "prequel." There isnt that much creativity behind something thats been exhausted with constant movies, a few years, another, a few years, another.

Thats why Im saying this film wouldnt be as big without Ledger kicking the bucket! Its a franchise thats desperate. I mean, look at Batman Begins! That flopped. Spent all that money, and it wasnt considered a Blockbuster.

Im all for nostalgia. Hell, I watch Pro-Wrestling, and theres nothing better than an old guy coming back, kicking arse and naffing off again! But this is a cheap rip off of what used to be a brilliant set of films in my eyes. Using the same name as a really successful franchise to make a few bucks is, in all honestly, and with no pun intended, a Joke!

You wana talk facts? Then why did you say and I quote:

You're using a news story as facts as well i'm afraid there, saying that he's been accused of smacking his mum and sister around. Smackings a bit of a strong word when you know little about it don't you think? And then the question about the estrangement, calling someone you don't know nor their cirucumstances surrounding their estrangement selfish is also a bit strong no?

You said earlier it was like talking to a brick wall earlier, I feel exactly the same way and will just leave it at this. I have better things to do with my life than sit here and argue with someone as narrowminded as you over such a topic. The point you were making at the start of thread seems to have warped throughout it and you're obviously just going to twist anyones worRAB around who disagree with you. I've reported you for the personal insult and general trolling, so i'll leave it in the hanRAB of RAB moRAB as to what happens.

PS Hope you enjoy the film

How very sad. I havent been trolling. I posted a simple post, stating I couldnt believe the hype this film was getting, and brought into question the general emotion of persons giving the afore mentioned hype, due to the fact that one of the characters had died. Its a discussion board, and in no way was a provoking an emotional response. Its not my fault you all got emotional over it. (Is "trolling" another word you dont understand?)

People have been insulting me all the way through this topic, but I have seen above it. If you want to go and cy to the admins about it, then go ahead. It just goes to show that you havent got the thick skin needed to discuss a topic as sensitive as this. Why you interjected yourself into it, knowing perfectly well that you couldnt handle what was being thrown back at you was basically your own fault. And the fact that your "leaving it at this" quite obviously points out that I have touched a nerve, and that I have proved you wrong.

Your sources are a joke, and mean nothing apart from the gossip of many rumor-magicians around the world.

I, however, have read and listened to the official statements from the police, who said he was arrested on the suspicion of assault. Assault. Now unless he was trying to have sex with them, he must have hit them. (Or physically abused them in someway shape or form.)

The fact he has been bailed means that the police are taking it seriously, and until I see something that will make me see without reasonable doubt that he didnt do it, I will continue to see him in a different light.

Innocent until proven guilty? I agree with that, but the fact someone has come out and said something like this, and the fact they are NOT American, which is something you hear a lot of over there, gives it quite a bit of credibility.

I have also found where you have got your "evidence" from, to close the case: TMZ.com.

Sad. You believe TMZ.com. Really. You just arent interested in the facts, are you...?

Given you have set your Location as "Gotham City," Im afraid I have no choice than to completely ignore you. Your partial, and just putting your Two-Cents worth in, because your quite obviously a massive Batman fan... although you cant really be that, if you think that these "new" films belong in the same category as the old stuff.

Further evidence that the film was over-hyped and overly-acclaimed is displayed in this thread, in which fellow RAB members display their regarRAB to the movie.

Maybe you would like to go and tell these people how wrong they are, and push them to see the film in the same biased light many of you see it in?

Case closed as far as I am concerned.

I was right, and I havent even seen the film. Nor will I do so.

Jeez, tons of bias here. You obviously hate Christian Bale and feel the current movies are an affront to the Batman franchise.

I love Batman and Batman Returns too, but have no issue with the current reboots. Christian Bale is the best British actor of his generation - American Psycho and Harsh Times are awesome, and his dedication to his role in The Machinist is incredible.

You keep calling the present films a cheap ripoff, which in itself is a joke. Look at the cast. Michael Caine, Liam Neeson, Morgan Freeman... and the way they've done it this time around is great, with a realism. Plus, Batman Begins has a feel that is closer to the Frank Miller comics which I think are great versions of the Batman story. The joker and

Talking of the comics - Batman originated in comics but if you compared all of them you'd see they're really different from each other. Does that make some of them less legitimate, and cheap ripoRAB?

Oh, and at the time he was cast, Michael Keaton was a non-bigtime comedy actor.

The problems I have with your post are not to do with my own bias. It's just some of your statements are blatantly untrue. In fact, this whole topic is hate against the Batman reboot disguised as an objective critique of whether Heath Ledger deserves an Oscar for his performance (refer back to your first post).

You then go on from that to rail against the hype this has generated for the sequel to a film you've only seen for the first few minutes. And the fact that this has generated more money than Spiderman 3, which you then reveal you don't care for either.

My rebuttal about cast was to do with your comment that Batman Begins was a cheap subpar ripoff.

Batman isn't my franchise. I've read little of the comics but enough to know that like James Bond, it's gone through changes.

I'd argue Keaton had about the same measure of fame as Bale had when he took the role. Apart from Beetlejuice, what other film had made him famous at the time?

I admit my love for the new ones and the two first ones. I respect that you do not like Batman Begins. What I don't respect is your sweeping statements about actors' performances that you haven't even seen, and films not deserving their hype when you haven't actually seen it.

How does a performance not seen by you be deemed anything by you?

Firstly, it's been out in America for 10 days. Secondly, they screen movies to critics early. I'm not raving myself. I liked the first film, and disagree with your 10 minute opinion on that. I disagree with the resulting hate you have for the film franchise starring Bale, so much so that you form an incredibly biased tirade against the Oscar-worthiness of an actor's performance. A performance you're not even going to see. I don't know whether it's Oscar-worthy or not, but I plan on finding out. How do you? I take reviews with a pinch of salt too, but my bias meter is set at 0. Yours is set at -100.

Before he died, some extended scenes of Ledger were leaked, causing people to see glimmers of a good performance. I'll reserve judgement until I see the movie, but what I saw was good.

Pray do tell me your opinions about other films you haven't seen yet and don't plan on seeing.
