I beg your pardon? You tell me exactly where I said "he died because he was a drug user..."
I didnt say that. Once again, petty minded people coming here and twisting what I am saying.
If you cant get it right, STAY OUT OF IT!
I found that article today, after Id posted this thread last night.
What you getting touchy for? You gutted you couldnt be cast in Brokeback Mountain 2 with him? Christ!
I have researched my (spelling lesson coming up here) ARGUMENT, unfortunately for you. He was a drug user. The things he had, are drugs, believe it or not. And to have that many drugs shows a serious problem to me. I believe doxylamine, diazepam, temazepam and oxycodone were found on him/in him, along with more. If they were found in him, then he didnt exactly OD on "Sleeping Pills" as you claim... but given that your Mr. Research master, then we must bow down to your superior intelligence, and agree with your ignorant and rather sensitive views.
In no way did I imply that he died with a needle in his arm. YOUR implying that I said that.
When you have quite finished having a go at me for something I havent done, get off your high horse, apologize, and Ill accept it.
In the mean time, think about this. At least one person has agreed with what Ive said in here, along with Jonathan Ross. And the fact that many of you are blind to the fact this film wasnt going to do much else than have a Special Edition DVD come out at Christmas is unbelievable.
You quite honestly have no grasp on the film industry as a whole, and what the people behind the curtain will do to make their product big.
If it was going to be big, why would they cast Christian Bale in the friggin' film, for crying out loud!? Id have cast someone a lot more high profile, and with a lot more talent. He is one of the worst actors Ive seen!
Sure, it had a decent sized budget (some $180,000,000?) but Im telling you, you could have cast the High School Musical Cast with Heath Ledger as the Joker, and it still would have broke recorRAB, simply because of the name "Batman" and the death of Heath Ledger.
People who argue different really arent impartial to this whole discussion. And to be honest, many of you sound like teenage girls still crying at his death.
Im not knocking the guy. Good actor. But did he really portray that roll better than Jack Nicholson back in the late 80's?
If Jack had died when that was being made, it would have been bigger than it ever was.
If Adam Sandler died during Click, it would have been bigger than it was.
Hell, if Jonathan Ross died after filming his show, it'd be the biggest rated programme youve seen! Why? Because your wanting to be a part of history, in seeing his "final" performance.
Re: 2Legit2Quit.
Im not on about the 1960's remake, but the '89 film starring Nicholson and Keaton among others.
I may have gone a little overboard with the "remake" word, but thats all I see these films as attempting to be.
The word "Sequel" is exhausted, so these writers and actors go to find something old, but new. Old "Batman." New phenomena "prequel." There isnt that much creativity behind something thats been exhausted with constant movies, a few years, another, a few years, another.
Thats why Im saying this film wouldnt be as big without Ledger kicking the bucket! Its a franchise thats desperate. I mean, look at Batman Begins! That flopped. Spent all that money, and it wasnt considered a Blockbuster.
Im all for nostalgia. Hell, I watch Pro-Wrestling, and theres nothing better than an old guy coming back, kicking arse and naffing off again! But this is a cheap rip off of what used to be a brilliant set of films in my eyes. Using the same name as a really successful franchise to make a few bucks is, in all honestly, and with no pun intended, a Joke!
