Recently, I went to install a new set of speakers in my car, I did not unplug the battery like I should have... and as i was pulling the door panel off some wire rubbed against the metal of the car and my stereo made a loud thump. The stereo wasn't turned on either, it freaked me out. I didn't hurt my amp, I don't think so atleast. My problem I have now is the dreaded alternator whine and it's bad. I also have a little bit of a buzzing noise coming through my speakers. Another weird thing that happened is my fader is working odd. If I keep all speakers faded in there is almost no bass to them. If I fade them to the front, they still play in the back speakers but really low, and the bass really increases for the front. Same with the back if I fade them there. I haven't done any rewiring or anything to locate where it's coming from. Right now I'm assuming it may be my rca cables, when I unplug my rca's my whine and the hum go away. I'm confused about the fader situation though. Anyone have any ideas what it could possibly be?
