I'm Giving Up On Nokia Until September!

8GB capacity, 3.5mm adaptor, slim, huge screen & hopefully much more stable than any Nokia's!!

.. and in US.. we can try this damn phone before we buy.. unlike Nokia's

8GB, 3.5mm- that's nothing coz N91 got that too

slim, it ain't that much slim...

huge screen, it ain't that much huge either... want to match it with the E90 inner screen???

stable??? we will never know until it is out, so doesn't count...

i always try phones before i buy, besides i can also return it...

N91 has 8GB but .. no 850 for some folks here in US! Besides, it is 30 grams more than iPhone. However, I DON'T think iPhone sound quality will be same/better than N91!! N91 beats ipod/iphone in the sound quality for sure!

Relatively slim.. 115 x 61 x 11.6mm vs N95 99 x 53 x 21 mm or E90 132 x 57 x 20 mm

Again.. it is reatively big.. for the size. 3.5 inches vs N95 2.6 inches. E90 is a different animal

I agree!

Since these high end phones are not released in US.. we have no choice but to pay premium for trying it out

I think that's part of the big argument with the iPhone; everyone thinks it's so revolutionary when most of its features have been available on previous models for years already.

The N91 may not have 850, but the iPhone doesn't have support for 3rd party apps. It's always a tug of war with phones, and thus far, none of them are the end-all, be-all. But, for the argument, the iPhone is NOT the first phone with an 8gb HD. Same goes for the 3.5mm headphone jack in the same category.

If I had to find ONE thing the iPhone has brought to the mobile world as "revolutionary" , I'd have to say its unique screen resolution (being both in a high resolution and a goofy size) and the its Apple formatted touch screen interface. Even the UI, however, has been cloned and done already on a Windows Mobile device if you read around a bit.

The iPhone is not revolutionary, and I'll argue against any other feature that one might bring up to suggest it is. In the grand scheme of mobile phones, if you do your homework, you'll see that the iPhone is just another Sidekick, at best; a phone everyone thinks is fun to play with, but falls WAY too short when it comes to a powerful media capable smartphone.

I like the idea of waiting until the next batch of phones comes out, as I've posted in another thread, but buying the iPhone in the meantime is just a waste of money.

What weaker feature set? MP3/ACC/ACC+/OGG/ACC+FairPlay from iTUNES which I'm sure MANY MANY ppl that own Nokia's use to purchase music/.Mov movies - of which currently ONLY the BB Pearl/8800 support .mov (ergo in certain formats).

Video playback its got it. WiFi its got it along with WEP/WPA/WPA2 and possibly 802.11n as well - yes I'm hoping.

No 3G - even European but lets bet that you or many ppl that want either are going to Europe soon, so lets forget about WCDMA 2100mhz for a moment.

A lot a ppl see the iphone a symplistic phone .... when its not. Has any of the naysayers in this thread EVER used OS X (any edition) for more than 2mths solid cold turkey? well with a bluetooth keyboard & mouse you can consider this an iMac! its a full blown 32-bit OS so until its first 6mths after debut to see what apps come along don't knock it. Many ppl thought the same with Nokia and the 7650 - mind you its NOT the first Symbian OS phone Nokia made its the first phone EVER to have a camera.

Look at Nokia now.

WHat happens on April 9th? The final court decision between Qualcomm & Nokia dispute? Either way NOBODY should expect a quick 3G rollout from Tmobile when the Bands are COMPLETELY untested or manufactured by either Ericsson/Nokia/Motorola for this continent.

Man I wish I knew but its not right. Its the other person's OWN hard earned dollars!

Yep! Because everyone knows less competition between producers is always better for the consumer! In fact, consumers are best off in a monopolistic market where their balls are the property of the single firm to do as it pleases.

Edit: the above is first and foremost a sarcastic joke, so don't take it too seriously, but there is a grain of salt there.

I'll be very surprised if the 2MP camera in the iPhone even compares to the 2MP cameras that we're used to in our phones. This is Apple's first foray into digital cameras, so it's unlikely its camera will be anywhere as good as SE's or Nokia's who have been putting cameras in their phones for years... with some things you just can't beat years of experience.

Just curious as to why there's a lot of hype about the iphone? Is it just becuase of the design??? Cause the specs are nothing to shout home about.

So if apple took a poo and sold it people would still pay for it? I guess that it could be called Appoo I like apple products, but the only thing I own is the Ipod and it is because it is the best player out there. Not true for the phone.
