im getting a 12' kicker and i want to know what kind of amp should a connect to it so...

First and foremost you need to provide more details about this Kicker sub. Size, RMS, Series etc.. I would recommend a Kicker amp whatever size you need. They make some of the best amps and provide great customer service if something happens (they sent me the wrong sub so I had to send it back) plus they are made in and are based in America. Anyways, provide more info and I can help.

Any amp @ least 200 RMS watts or MOSFET power
all amp does is provide electricty cheaper the better just keep it @ the 200 watt range and u gonna have clean power and loud
