Im buying an 06 kawasaki zx6r with a messed up engine. looking to replace. can i drop in an 07 zx6r engine?

Or will i have to replace everything else? ive heard that the 05 and 06 are the same, or am i better off getting specifically an 06 to avoid any other problems.
