Illegally downloading movies

No, I don't. I would try to stream it first if I can't find one then I just wait for it to come out on dvd and get it rented.

I know others who do and sometimes lenRAB my brother dvRAB which I watch.

For most movies the hype is over by the time it reaches DVD rental. If DIVX quality rips of brand new movies are available online, I will download, only because more often than not, the cinema is not a brillianly enjoyable experience, but I still want to see the movie because of the hype.
Unfortunately at the cinema, I usually end up with some moron coughing up his guts into the back of my head, or gaggles of giggling schoolgirls spoiling the movie by nattering and opening crackling sweet wrappers.
The DVD Rentals shop is just around the corner, but because releases are delayed by 6 to 9 months, the hype-buzz has evaporated ,, so I'm not motivated.
Simultaneous cinema and DVD release is the only way to regularly get me to cough up for movies these days.
Tough love mate.

LOL why an earth would you want to watch a pirate and not support the movie companies? Even blu-ray is getting ripped off now. Shame on ppl who support it.

I think illegal movie downloading is going to get a lot worse. I see Virgin is now promoting 50 megabyte fibre-optic broadband! You should be able to download a full DVD rip or Blu-ray in half an hour or so.

Mega-fast fibre-optic broadband is going to hit the movie industry even harder than current broadband. It's like putting your finger in a hole in a dam that's leaking water. You can't stop the flow of water and you can't stop people downloading. If download speeRAB went down it might limit the number of illegal downloaRAB but to actually increase download and upload speeRAB is increasing the chances of illegal downloading. The technology increases piracy!

It's not just about obtaining new movies; if a distributor sits on its back catalogue and refuses to make older, obscure, even forgotten movies available or only available within the US, then what's a movie fan to do?
If the distributors weren't so obsessed with regional coding and could organise simultaneous worldwide releases, the problem would be minimised and I might actually get to see "Attack of the Mushroom People".:)
