If you leave an item plugged into a car cigarette lighter, does it drain the car's

battery? I want to leave my GPS and radar detector plugged into my car cigarette power adaptor splitter. If I make sure that the devices are turned off and left plugged in, will it put a drain on the car's battery?
 
The power draw on a GPS unit/Radar Det. should be very little. So you should be fine, long as your battery is good and strong. By turning the items off your really helping your self out. You could do like I did and hard wire the items to your battery and then use a toggle switch for the on/off factor.
