If you a kicker amp do you have to use a kicker wiring kit or can i use something else?

I have an alpine amp hooked up now, can i just switch amps and just use the same wires?

yes your previous set up will work but be sure the new amp does not require a larger main power wire, like 8 gauge to 4 gauge.
this is a good time to inspect connections for insulation that is warn or broken.

Dashark is right but his list of wattage to wire gauge is wrong.
From 800-1500 nothing less than 2 gauge, 1500 and up you need to be using 0 gauge.

brands almost never have to match up
so yes, you can just switch out the amps and leave the wiring

keep in mind that if your new amp has a much higher wattage output, you may need to upgrade to a bigger gauge wire

Any type of wire will do, it doesnt really matter. Just make sure you are using the right guage.
