What would he say about the changes since the 1860's? And would people in these day's want another Lincoln considering his moral standing?

If President Lincoln came back to life, I would personally put another bullet in his head. The man was no hero to this country. The Civil War could have been avoided. Instead, Lincoln decided to push forward with actions that turned brother against brother. His decisions cost this country over 600,000 soldiers lives and at least as many were badly wounded. Civilian deaths from sickness, exposure or imprisonment are estimated in the tens of thousands. Property and other Civil War damages mounted to a massive $4 billion, primarily in the South. On top of this all, the loss of the Civil War, was huge blow to states rights and this loss of state power has directly led to the corruption and greed that we find in our present day government.

Grandma, he's kicking the slats out of his box right now, after what those rats in Chicago have done to his state.
Blagojevich, Durbin and Daley (ALL Democrats too, I might add) have made this state (Illinois, Land of Lincoln) the laughing stock of the WORLD.
I'm embarrassed to say that I live in Illinois.

He'd probably say something like "GET A ROPE" !!

FYI , SPRINGFIELD, IL. is the capitol of Illinois, NOT Chicago.(Springfield to Chicago is approximately 200 miles) but all of the states executive business affairs are conducted in Chicago, where the crooks are.

Edit> uh, ohh, Samantha, I think your out of line with that one, and I bet your gonna get a lot of "THUMB DOWNS" (which you SO deserve.)

He would be happy that the blacks were able to achieve what they have, but be appaled as to what they had to go through to get it

I would not mind another lincoln

Historians have concluded that Lincoln brought together different factions of the Republican party into his administration and forced them to cooperate. It is my opinion that he would not have approved of the conduct of the present administration. I believe that he would be proud that this country elected it's first president of African American heritage.
On a side note; Lincoln lived in Indiana for a short period of time. As a Hoosier I can't help but wonder what he would have thought about Mitch Daniels (gov) leasing our toll road to a foreign consortium for 75 years. It would certainly be an interesting conversation to sit in on if he came back to life.

Geezer...how true. Just another example to what the big political machine has come to in this century.

Whoa! Abraham Lincoln DID NOT own slaves; a mind is a terrible thing to corrupt. I think Lincoln would be pleased with our UNITED States, our diversity and our new President.

Heard on one of the cable news programs two weeks ago: "If Lincoln knew what was happening now in Illinois, he would be rolling over in his grave!"
This is an old saying, but it is one that fits this time perfectly.

He would revisit his famous saying, "You can fool all of the people some of the time, and some of the people all of the time, but you can't fool all of the people all of the time." And if you want Lincoln's words really meaningful, substitute "Yahoo! seniors" for "people."

Perhaps he would be surprised that Obama will be our next president and African Americans have come so far, especially since he used to own slaves.
