1Cor.14:34-35

...influence these verses 1cor.14:34-35? Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but they are commanded to be under obedience as also saith the law.

35 And if they will learn any thing, let them ask their husbands at home: for it is a shame for women to speak in the church.

Hi, There is more to the Bible than your two verses. Read the rest and you will find that all are one in Christ, MALE, FEMALE, JEW. GENTILE. So obey the word, let them speak and you will learn something. I find there are more women and girls who serve God than males. If women are running missions and Christian ministry because the blokes are missing how are they going to do this without speaking. Usually the women know more about the Bible than men so how can they ask the men. We decided the ladies in our church could speak and we would miss out on so much without them. So find a new question. nev r

I don't. Since this is effectively the exact same question you asked a half hour ago I'll give you the exact same answer. I quote myself:

"I think I'm actually going to try and answer this question seriously today. These verses were discussed quite recently at a talk given at my Church. It will interest you to know that the discussion took place between woman mostly. The general consensus was as follows:

That this bit of scripture could not merely be disregarded as being relevant only to a particular time because the Church teaches that the Scripture speaks to us in every age and this must mean all of it. We cannot pick and choose from the bible.

That said we felt that the answer lay in the persons of Our Lord Jesus Christ and His mother Mary. Jesus was a man (as well as God obviously) and choose twelve male Apostles to spread His message after He had gone. They were however followed by holy women (including His own mother Mary) who although they may well have been as knowledgeable as the Apostles (indeed there is evidence in places in the Gospel that they were) and just as (if not more) brave, they where called to a different way of life. Their part in the Gospel was a very quiet one but NOT an unimportant one. It was the holy women who did not desert Jesus.

At Pentecost in the upper room wasn't Mary there too and didn't she receive the Holy Spirit also? But she didn't go out like the other Apostles proclaiming the good news. Women are called (we thought anyway) to follow her example. A humble one in the sense that it is almost a silent part but a just as important one."

How many times have you posted the same question over and over? That is a violation of the Terms of Service and we are told in multiple places in scripture to follow the rules of those in charge. Women are a lot more likely to take your scripture verses seriously if you were actually willing to follow to the ones that apply to following the rules of those in charge.

Thanks to you ,ive started having dreams about these verses!!! lol
I was actually praying to God about it(in quiet a repentive way believe me!), still i was confused and I asked God about it and He brought this part of the scripture to my attention... "but they are commanded to be under obedience as also saith the law." I kept reading it over agian asking Him to reveal it to me...
and it's about the law at the time, we are to obey the law(although we aren't under it anymore) and now that law has changed, so theres no need to live like that...

those who live in the spirit are not subject to the law, only those who live in the world.
