If Obama is such a great leader....

Deficits are part of starving the beast....eventually we have to hit the debt ceiling. If you cut revenues (hey who doesn't want their taxes cut?!? a recession won't happen) while leaving spending high....you know full well that you're going to have to keep pushing the debt limit higher and higher. It's part of the strategy. A good strategy that has worked to this point.

We're set to have a crisis almost once a year now while we work on dismantling the larger parts of government wholy, instead of removing the smaller chunks that have been added gradually.

In my rare moments of honesty, I don't consider Obama a bad president either. And considering the alternative in 2008, I can see why he won. But continuing with that honesty, I think he is the wrong president for this time. I see his skill sets as wrong for the current time. Much like I think Bush2 was the wrong president for his time.

He does the things I want done. I am rating him on is his effectiveness at forwarding his agenda, and my own. You disagree with his agenda, so you rate him on what he does and how you disagree with it. We have different metrics of a sort.

As a counter example, Reagan to me was a pretty terrible President, although if I cared about a conservative agenda, I would probably rate him quite highly. That's not to say he wasn't a decent or inspirational figure who had some intangible qualities I like, but he did nothing beneficial to my vision of our country.
