"If it weren't for that guy..."

I love this topic,my opinion on the annoying/unfunny/uninteresting characters:

Shell(Jabberjaw) - What an irritating WITCH,which Jabberjaw needs to devour her:mad:.
Baby Piggy(Muppet Babies) - She annoys me for being such a brat, poor Kermit,Gonzo,Skeeter,& Fozzie much worse than Miss Piggy.
Brittany(Alvin & the Chipmunks) - Such a rotten brat for her poor sisters & poor Alvin.
D.W.(Arthur) - Annoying bratty sister for the poor Arthur & the Read Family:(having to put up with her.
Angelica(The Rugrats) - Huge nasty/sadistic brat & yet she's popular.
Debbie(The Wild Thornberries) - Annoying jerksister with an attitude problem for the poor family:shrug:,& being mean to poor Darwin.
Shelly(South Park) - Annoying, horrible, abusive jerksister on poor Stan who needs a severe beating.
Meg/Herbert(Family Guy) - Two unlikable, unfunny, uninteresting characters that are not that great, but Herbert was a bit funny in his first appearances, but the writers used him too much & using Meg as a punching bag is hilarious.
Jade(Jackie Chan Adventures) - When she first showed up,she became such an annoying brat for poor Jackie/Uncle to deal with.
Bonnie(Kim Possible) - Agreeing with blazecat, the worst/horrible bully ever who loves being a pain on poor Kim,but I love her sisters better.
Paulina(Danny Phantom) - What a snotty brat which I like to push her in a mud puddle.
Mr.Herriman/Bloo(FHFIFs) - Those two are so horrible/mean at times as the show progressed.
Chief Rojas(The Batman) - Such a giant jerkoff bashing on poor Batman, but I'm glad he's written off the show:mad:,but good for Clayface to bash him:D.
Penelope(Atomic Betty) - I find her such an annoying, snotty brat on poor Betty.
Gwen(Ben 10) - Agreeing with RonDraken17,she's much a mega jerk of a cousin bashing poor Ben in the whole series, but her awesome teenage self is way better that I prefer.
Giant Man(Ultimate Avengers) - He irritates me so much as much as I wanna sock him HARD:mad:,but thank you Hulk for pounding him!!!!!
Sentinel Prime(Transformers:Animated) - Man,the writers made him into such an annoying jerk for the poor Autobots, but his trashings made it worth it.
No.363(Codename:KND) - Such an annoying, despicable little butthead/terrible leader which I'm glad he got his just desserts.
Guy Gardner(Green Lantern/Batman:The Brave & the Bold) - What an annoying dickface who needs a beating, thanks to Batman & Sinestro.
Chi-Chi(Dragonball Z/GT) - Annoying, hypocrite, witchy mother who doesn't care about the world except for Gohan & his education.
Asuka(Neon Genesis Evangelion) - Such a mean/nasty jerk on poor Shinji/Rei,the beginning episodes got great before she shows up & make Shinji's life miserable.
Davis(Digimon Season 2) - He's such a jerk being jealous on poor T.K./Kari's relationship.
Li(Cardcaptors) - I can't stand such an annoying, obnoxious brat on poor little Sakura.
Seto Kaiba(Yu-Gi-Oh!) - He may be cool/rich/obnoxious,but he's such a stupid, stubborn, nonbelieving jerk even in the Dartz arc.
Tyson(Beyblade 2002/V-Force/G.Revolution) - In seasons 2/3,he became such a rotten/nasty jerk(worse than a villain)on poor Kenny & his teammates which irritates me SO much which his character became so horrible,I just wanna punch him:mad:.
Kicker(Transformers:Energon) - He pisses me off most of the time for being such a pain for the poor Autobots,I SO wanna beat him up:mad:.
Naru(Love Hina) - It makes you wanna smack her for abusing poor Keitaro.
Richard Moore(Case Closed) - He irritates me when he's such a jerk bashing on poor Conan/Jimmy so much.
Patina(Magical Doremi) - What an annoying little snotball on the poor girls.
Inari/Kiba/Karashi/Princess Haruna/Todoroki(Naruto) - Those jerks annoy me so much when they first show up,I couldn't stand them.
Jinta/Ririn/Shota/Kenryuu(Bleach) - Geez, what a bunch of annoying jerks that makes you want to hurt them.

No flames here. I completely agree with you. Elmyra was tolerable (for the most part) in small doses, but after TTA's writers ran with Elmyra and used the character as often as possible, even going so far as devoting entire episodes to her, she quickly became annoying. Jackhammer annoying. Elmyra is the Tom Green of cartoon characters.

... Oh great. Now I have a mental image of Elmyra doing the sausage song from 'Freddy Got Fingered'.

I'm going to have a hard time not cracking up randomly at work today.

Can we add Chicken Boo to that list? Most of the only-one-joke characters on Animaniacs (or Tiny Toons, for that matter) got on my nerves.

Don't forget to explain your choices, and also let's keep in mind that we're discussing characters whom you feel bring the show down, we're not just venting about characters that we don't like.

I second this. I mean, it's like "I hate Elmer Fudd 'cause he wants to shoot Bugs Bunny." Yeah, he does, thats the whole point. (Not that anyone said that, just giving the best example I can think of.

Anywho... off the top of my head, I don't like Cheese. But her appears so rarely that that's hardly an issue.... I really can't think of any characters that actually ruined a show for me...

Providing conflict is fine. Providing conflict while being truly, utterly, brain-bendingly annoying and irritating is something else entirely. There's a difference between a character you love to hate, and a character you just plain hate.

sure i really didnt get into him either

as a four year old watching animaniacs i loved the warners, slappy, rita and runt and buttons and mindy, give or take and the goodfeathers.
when the animaniacs featured to the hip hipppos i hated to sit and watch they always bored me i just dont know why, and chicken boo, as a kid i really didnt get the point of a giant chicken, but now i sort of like a few of his cartoons most still leave a bitter taste in my mouth, they were never as exiting as the warners or slappy, to me:shrug:

Chicken Boo was basically one of those weird abstract humor things that would become commonplace in the cartoons of today. He's somewhat of a stab at anthropormorphic animals in general in that he literally is a man sized chicken but that's all he is.

Definitley. I'm just stating that a lot of people didn't elaborate their choices. That being stated, I have now thought of a character that almost ruins the shorts he appears in; that character, ironically, is the aforementioned Elmer Fudd. He was such a push-over that I felt bad for him under Bugs's torture, which meant the shorts were robbed of a true villain. I like Yosemite Sam much better.

Rita the singing cat from Animaniacs bored me a lot. Every time she started to break out into some schmaltzy Disney-esque musical number, I had to mute the tv. I believe she's second to the hip hippos for most least liked Animaniacs character.

Goo and Cheese from Foster's Home. I was enjoying the show until these two became reoccurring characters. Cheese was a memorable one shot character, but he did not need to return just to keep repeating his catchphrases and getting in the way of the cast. Goo is a huge stereotype of ADD kids, neither of which I'm fond of.

I'm also not a big fan of Randy Marsh from South Park. He gets too much screentime and is often portrayed in contradicting ways. One episode he may be an immature manchild, and the next he'll be the only adult with some sense and competence.

Wow, where to start, o-k, here are my top picks:

Scrappy Doo ("the Scooby Doo show") (Really, what was the point of having him on the show? He is very annoying and he essentially does not help the gang out. He might be helpful when it comes to clues, but that is basically all he is good for, he should definitely go.)

Nermal ("Garfield and Friends") (I never liked Nermal, I know Nermal is in everything "Garfield" related, the T.V. show, "Garfield gets real", etc, but Nermal adds nothing to the story, all he (she?) does is annoy Garfield and tries to be cute. Nermal is just very annoying, and additionally, whatever episode has Nermal in it is just because another waste for a plot, Nermal does nothing to contribute to the episodes.)

Donny Juice ("Beetle Juice") (I know Donny Juice is Beetle Juice's brother and polar opposite, but I see no purpose for his character. All he contributes is just ways for the other characters to be more angry towards Beetle Juice. If I remember correctly, he does love Beetle Juice, but really. What is his point?)

Skeeter ("Muppet Babies") (I know Skeeter was created for the show to give gender equality, along with Miss Piggy, of course, but there is essentially no purpose for her character. I admit, Skeeter is o-k, but her brother, our lovable Scooter, is a much better character.)

Henry Hawk ("Looney Tunes") (I do not like Henry Hawk, plain and simple. I admit, he makes a great rival for Foghorn Leghorn, but Foghorn Leghorn's basic rival is supposed to be then Barnyard Dog not Henry Hawk, I mean come on that is two against one. I also think they should have done away with Spike and Hector, or whatever those bull-dog rivals who picked on Sylvest were, but it would have been sweet if Marc Anthony was his nemesis. I could have imagined an episode where Sylvester is adopted and tries to do away with Pussyfoot, thus getting in the way of Marc Anthony, so there on, but that is not the point of this thread.)

There are probably many more, but I will think of more later.

Looneytunes/Disneytoons

You're entitled to your opinion of course, but I'm not sure how Donny could've ruined the show when he was only featured in 2 episodes out of a total of 65+. I didn't love Donny, but he was barely on the show often enough to make a dent.

On a similar note, earlier another poster said New Brian from the Family Guy episode "The Man with Two Brians", who only appeared in 1 episode.

This is just my personal criteria, and I'm not forcing it on anyone else, but to me, in order for a character to bring down a show, they have to appear regularly or at least semi-regularly. Guest star characters generally don't bring down a show for me since they're easy to ignore; you can simply choose to not watch the 1 episode that they appeared in.

Herbert on Family Guy. I'm sorry, but I have only laughed at this character ONCE, and that was when he was interacting with Meg in one episode last season (Play It Again, Brian). The writer's hit on something good with that pairing: Make Meg Herbert's foil and they might actually make two unlikable, unfunny characters actually a little (by a slighter margin) funnier.
