"If it weren't for that guy..."

Lina (Yin Yang Yo!) This character doesn't necessarily ruin the entire show for me, but still, I never had any trouble controlling my enthusiasm for her. I never understood why YYY's writers felt that Yang needed a potential girlfriend at all, as Yang's falling over himself trying to impress a girl seemed very out of character for him, at least to me. In Lina's 1st few appearances, it seemed as if her sole reason for existing was to make Yang look like a useless moron. Then later on, both Yang and Yin (who wants to be Lina's best friend) began fighting for Lina's attention, which made Lina seem somewhat Mary Sue-ish. If YYY gets another season, I hope that Lina will have a greatly reduced role.

Sharon Hawkins (Static Shock) It's odd, because usually I like most annoying sister characters, but for some reason, Sharon just never clicked with me. I think that much of it had to do with that loud, obnoxious voice of hers (provided by Michelle Morgan). Sharon's voice is so grating that after watching any Sharon heavy episode of SS, I would begin wishing that recorded sound had never been invented. And on the subject of annoying sisters, I can't forget...

Dee-Dee (Dexter's Laboratory) I don't think that it's really necessary to elaborate on this one. Dee-Dee is the epitome of annoying and easily the most annoying character in the entire series. Not only is Dee-Dee a goof, but she's been a MAJOR jerk to Dexter in certain episodes. I do like Dee-Dee's pseudo anime design in FusionFall, though.

I never understood how people tolerated Goo, she was annoying and just felt like a burden rather than a respectable character. She really provided no use to the story whatsoever... and that's the same with Cheese, really.


 
Interesting fact; Henery Hawk was actually supposed to be the headliner of the first Foghorn Leghorn cartoon, but Fog and the dog proved so much more memorable than him that they wound up becoming the center of the series.
 
I'm going to second the 'Hip Hippos'. I don't know what it is about them, but their individual shorts are a pain for me to watch. Maybe its because the characters just aren't funny or interesting in any way. I will watch shorts that include them but only if there is another character with them.
 
"Mary sue" was ORIGINALLY a literary term for when a character is obviously just a perfected version of the author, living out things the author whiches they could do. People have misunderstood and over-used the term so much that it now extends to all "flawless" characters.



What on earth made you think you would be flamed for hating Elmyra? She's almost as universally hated as scrappy, and always has been.
 
While some of your above choices are a tad questionable, I have to agree with you on this one. I found Muppet Babies itself to be a somewhat overrated show (good for a laugh here and there but worthy of all of the hype and praise it received), but Piggy definitely ruined the show for me. I have nothing against characters who add a twist of lemon to the basic sweetness, and I get that it's always been part of Miss Piggy's character that she's something of a diva, but the MB writers went overboard with it, IMO. Their depiction of Piggy was permanently stuck in Shrew Mode, immediately losing her temper, screaming, shouting, chasing, bossing and threatening characters at even the slightest provocation. Miss Piggy on The Muppet Show was a diva; Baby Piggy on Muppet Babies came of as more of a ticking time bomb badly in need of Anger Management.
