I would have to say by looking at your situation that yes, you would be at the present time disqualified. At one time it may have been waivered provided you had all of the medical documentation from your Doctor by the National Guard but the Guard is over manned currently and really not waiving anything. And no, the Army/National Guard doens't take just anyone. Your chances do get much slimmer with AF, Navym Marines and CG. I would give yourself some time, follow the medical advice given to your by your physician and see where you are with your condition a year or two down the road. No, do not lie and if a recruiter says to do so, you would be a fraudulent enlistment and kicked out, you wouldn't be charged with any crime but it would follow you through life. You can find the enlistment criteria for the National Guard online by searching for National Guard Enlistment Criteria.

...Branches? About a year ago, I voluntarily put myself into a mental health hospital. This was because I had gotten fired from a job, and was a pretty big deal to me, would this stop me from joining the military? If so what would I have to do, to waiver it? Do these waivers go through often? I've read through a lot of these, so please don't tell me to lie, I'm sorry but I don't feel like dedicating my time to something and then getting a felony out of it, besides that doesn't seem morally rite. Also I would like to ask, what branches are more apt to take me (ie Coast Guard, Army, Navy, Air Force, National Guard(please avoid the "Army will take anyone and everyone response"))

Thanks.
I would also like to add, I was diagnosed after about a 200 question servey with slight paranoia and that was it. I think this was a one time thing for me.
