I want to see films in good old fashioned 2D!

Avatar 3D - Average
Alice in wonderland - crap
Clash of the titan - crap

3D hasn't done anything for the films above.

I wear glasses but don't have any problem fitting the 3D glasses over them.

I don't want 3D and don't appreciate it, yet another gimmick to entice consumers to upgrade their tv equipment, or pay more at the cinema. It looks artificial and takes me out of the movie. Neither Avatar nor Alice gained anything and actually lost something.

For me, everything I watch is already in 3D, unless it has 1D writing, acting, direction, and production.

I agree with Alice and Clash, but i strongly beg to differ with you saying Avatar's 3D was "average". It's probably the only 3D film i've seen where the 3D was utilized well, and wasn't there merely as a gimmick. It brought you into the world much more than the film does in 2D.

I think that if a film is made in 2D then it should be released that way though, all the ones that have been converted look poor, and is blatantly just down to the company wanting to make a fast buck off the consumer.

I am quite a big movie fan, and am always looking forward to something or another that is on the way. I also seem to be easily pleased, as I recently saw Shrek Forever After and thought it was quite a good film - maybe not a patch on the first two but that doesn't make it bad. But I shall get to my point....

I cannot watch 3D. I tried it out near the end of last year with Avatar, and for the first five minutes, I had already labelled it with the word gimmick. Even when I tried to abide it, I began to develop a migraine. For the first time in my life, I had to walk out of a cinema, and I never do that, no matter how poor I think a film is, but I was on the verge of passing out.

Back to Shrek, I went to see it with a mate last week and neither of us can watch 3D. I had to travel near on 20 miles just to get to a cinema with a 2D showing- and this is from someone who lives in a town very close to London!

Now, if people like 3D and it is a big money spinner (as is obvious by the fact we had the 2D showing to ourselves), then by all means people should invest further in it- as many have said, it is a minority of people that cannot watch/appreciate the 3D concept. But it is rather unfair to 'abandon' the minority altogether.

I cannot drive yet, and had to use public transport for an hour and a half, just for the sake of a movie. What is supposed to be an enjoyable treat turns into a laborious day out. On the brighter side, I enjoyed the movie, but miss the days when I could just take a walk down the road and see it at my local screen (and these days were not too long ago).

In short: I don't like 3D but the public has spoken, and they do. Fair enough, let movie-makers invest in the business. But don't abandon the rest of us for the sake of your new toy.

Im one of the "few" that get headaches

Im also hoping its just a passing phase. If it isnt I dont really know what my options are :/

Maybe a really expensive 3D tv and high spec glasses to fit over my own glasses at home might help but until I can try it out I have no idea for sure.

All I know is no way can I sit through a movie thats 3D in cinema anymore. I might be in the minority but as someone who loves loves the big screen its quite upsetting for me personally.

I think it is constantly rammed down our throats, and drummed into our heaRAB that 3D is 'the done thing' now. So I do have to wonder if it isn't merely media influence confounding the true nature of all this.

That said though, a number of my frienRAB consider it to be a form of blasphemy that I don't like 3D (in addition to not being able to watch it). I'm sorry, but it detracts from the film in my opinion, as it is too gimicky. I like to just be able to sit down and watch - no extra costs, no fiddling with glasses, just good old movie watching. Very few 3D movies seem to have been truly convincing either (especially seeing as most are simply 2D conversions), so maybe the world isn't actually fully ready for it yet.

I did go and see a few 3d movies before cineworld started to charge unlimited card customers to see them, none since, going to see new Shrek next week but will watch 2d version

There's considerably more 3D showings when compared to 2D showings because there is a demand for it, whether 3D naysayers like it or not. The majority of people want to see the film in 3D if they have the choice (unless it's a notoriously bad conversion like Clash). The fact that most cinemas still have the odd 2D showings of 3D films shows that they aren't completely abandoning the 2D viewers, it's just that's no longer where the money is for the cinema.

Me myself, I can't watch 3D, and like yourself I have a unlimited card. It pees me off that some films at cineworld, that when some films are released in 3D, sometimes it is never really shown in 2D (How to Train Your Dragon).

I hope it dies out sooner than later, as it's annoying the crap out of me now.

None of the cinemas I go to charge any more for 3D screenings. And they're all massive screens, great sound systems, with no ticket costing over a fiver (can get in for

3D doesn't do anything for me,but luckily my cinema(s) show everything in 2D.Also,I'm more of a 'wait for DVD man' anyway.

Feel sorry for the people who can't watch it and struggle to find 2D versions, because the list of upcoming 3D films is growing all the time - for instance:

Green Hornet
Adventures of Tintin
Kung Fu Panda 2
POTC 4
Tron:The Legacy

Yes but this is a HUGE film and will take 3 or 4 screens at most cinemas, usually 2 is the maximum amount of 3D screens they have in cinemas, so there will be a fair few 2D showings of it. It's only the smaller 3D films that have much less 2D showings. The same was true for Up. My local cinema had loaRAB of 3D and 2D showings due to it's popularity.

A truly good movie shouldn't need 3D. Hopefully Inception will be and example of this. This might just be me but the 3D kind of distracts from the story I'm trying to get instrested then suddenly i think these 3D effects are rubbish or these 3D effects are amazing. I remember going to see Shrek 4 in IMAX 3D and at the beginning the story books comes right out of the screen I was thinking wow this looks amazing. The next scene comes on then it suddenly hit me I didn't listen to a single word of what that character just said. lol
