I would like to learn to knit (I think that's it, making stuff like blankets and scarves, sweaters and the like).
I do a lot of bead work, as in making jewelry, so I'm pretty handy.
I have no idea where to start, should I buy a book, or just find a pattern and go for it?
I assume it will probably be easier to start with something like a hat or scarf, or even a blanket, but what I really want to do is be able to make sweaters. I love to wear sweaters, but it seems like I can't ever find what I really like, so the best answer seems to be "make them".
Anyone with tips or hints would be greatly appreciated.
