...do all the numbers mean, etc? hey

i want to get a car audio system

my friend said i need:

speakers (im getting 4)
head deck (i think its the radio thing with the volume, buttons, etc)
amp (what is this, what does it do?)
sub/sub woofer (i think this is the bass/ do you have to get one that fits all those numbers about the amp???)

apparently you cant just buy all these at random, but check that they will all work together, etc.

also, can i get different brands for all 4 things? or the same brand.

SHOT!

First off yes you can get different brands for each thing. Second off yes the amp and sub must match up same with the speakers and amp. As for the numbers RMS wattage is just what the sub or speakers can handle constantly. The peak wattage is what it handles basically just once anything above that will blow it quick. Speakers handle the mid to high sounds from your music while the sub handles the lows aka bass. No you can't just go pick them all up they all got to match the numbers and everything. I'd go to like best buy or a place in your area that deals with car audio. They will be able to help you to better understand these terms and get you what you need for your car or truck. They can match up the numbers for you and give you other options for your price range. Hope that helps.
