I want a sport motorcycle. Which would be better for a beginner, Kawasaki Ninja 650R...

...or Ninja 250R? I don't want to race or do wheelies or anything like that. I just want to ride around town.
 
Neither. The 650 is to fast and powerful and the 250 is to slow and weak. Go with the Ninja 500 it's the best bike for a beginner and for years down the road.
 
personally i would go with the zxr6 they style is great the power is great for a beginner (no worries of over powering but there if you need it)
the 650 is as well a nice bike..a little less power then the 6r however a great ride. the 250's on the other hand are good bikes yet as a rider myself i will tell you, you will want at least a little more power later down the road they do however get a little better mpg but not much. new versions top out around 100mph they do have some passing power but again not as much as the other two.

with that said
between the two i honestly believe you would be happier with the 650r
good mpg, smooth power (not to much but its there.) a much better cruiser.
 
the 500 ninja would be the best bike for you.plenty of power. light. good on gas. and you wont get tired of riding it.as for the 250 ninja it tops out at around 125mph not 100mph.the 250 and the 500 cc motorcycles will be cheaper for insurance.
 
Do I really need to answer this? The 250 of course. And number 2, Sport bikes are NOT for riding around town ;)

Edit: @ xxx, The frames are the same, therefore the 650 makes turns just as well as the 250. duh
