Sure, they have spiny lobster in the south. But they didn't have time
to fish for themselves when there were chores to be done. Sure, they
could trap lobsters on their days off and for a little on their lunch
hours.
IOW: I kinda doubt the validity that they ate much lobster except for
the rare one that was dragged in from some other form of fishing.
