I remember when lobster was cheap

Some people think it's a typo. It's not. I worked them camps in all

What's the rush?
Eating blue Crab is a social event. Pitcher of beer, big pile of crabs, lots
of time BSing. Best with about 4 to 6 people.

Somebody has to specifically set traps to catch lobsters. I don't see
anybody in the northeast catching lobster and sending it south unless
it was for humanatarian reasons (unheard of back then).

Sure, they have spiny lobster in the south. But they didn't have time
to fish for themselves when there were chores to be done. Sure, they
could trap lobsters on their days off and for a little on their lunch
hours.

IOW: I kinda doubt the validity that they ate much lobster except for
the rare one that was dragged in from some other form of fishing.

It was awesome. The California spiny lobster was cut into chunks, laid out
on top of toasted english muffins then topped with Hollondaise sauce, two
poaches eggs and a dollop of caviar.

No rush. Just so good that I can't get enough! My brother used to come
visit me from Maryland and he would fill a huge cooler with cooked
Blues and bring them with him on ice. He's the type that drives right
through, so he's always here about 20 hours from there.

We pig out on Blue Crab for 2 days. I make it in salads, creamed crab
over whatever...even rice balls with crab. Its fun to catch up on
events while we stuff crab down our throats.

We just buy them locally now. He tells me that Chesapeake Blues are
now more expensive due to lower catches and he says the taste isn't as
good now.

There are plenty here in Florida.

We always put the newspapers down on the bar in the Florida Room. Ice
cold beer in the bar fridge and plenty of room for elbows!

OMG, that sounds so tasty! What's your favorite Caviar? Mine is the
Ikura type of Salmon eggs, soaked in soy sauce and sake. Each egg
explodes in the mouth with a fantastic flavor. One of my favorite
bites of sushi is the Nigirizushi; Ikura Gunkanmaki.
