I need help with my amp it turns on without a ground wire hooked up but no sound!!?

i have a rockfordfosgate punch t200.2
i have 2 subs hooked up but when i plug the ground wire in it wont turn on but when i dont have the ground wire plugged in it will turn on but no sound come out at all i need help plz
and i know everything is hooked up correct so idk any ideas will help thanks
 
You should have one wire coming from the battery. This is your positive wire. The ground wire is essential a negative wire. You need both hooked up for the unit to turn on. It should be impossible to work if you don't so I'm not sure how it would turn on... The only think I can think of is that it's your remote wire. There is a small current that comes from that so maybe you have that hooked to the negative terminal. I don't know if it would be enough power to make the amp turn on as I've never tried it, but it's a possibility. Have someone check to make sure your wires are hooked up correctly. It sounds like incorrect wiring to me.
