When my kids were that age, I would always just order a little more than I planned on eating, and then ask for an extra plate. In most restaurants, I found it to be healthier than what was on the kids menu. It was also easier to get them to eat it because it came from the "grownup menu." I guess that made them feel special, lol! To further sweeten the deal, I'd often let them help me pick what "we" were going to order.
