I have a warped perception of my body?

When I look in the mirror I think I see a fat bulge but when I touch it is just a rib. I am not underweight (nor do I aim to be) but I was wondering how common this is? What can I do (other than stop looking in the mirror)? I know looks aren't everything but it makes me feel like I am a little crazy. I do not weigh myself or count calories because I tend to go overboard when I lose weight.
I do exercise. ._.

I'm no where NEAR overweight.
