i have a 2003 kawasaki ninja 636 and i am having problems with my clucth!?

when i turn on the motorcycle and i shift to 1 it cracks and it starts moving allitle bit its like the clutch is not disingaging correctly . its also hard to put it back to Neutral only when is on. i aallready check the cables and its allright. what could it be . everything was okay a week ago before i remove the engine to crome the body
how do i adjust the cable ? and what you mean by feeplay
 
I agree , it is probably a maladjusted cable . check the adjustment at the lever and the clutch end, they both have to be right to work properly.
 
when you checked the cables did this involve checking for appropriate free play? or was it just a visual inspection to verify the cable isn't damaged?

if you didn't do so, check for free play.... if it's not disengaging correctly you need to give it some more free play.
