I have a 1986 kawasaki zx1000. In first gear when i get moving pretty fast

the clutch slips. what causes this? It seems like it just started? will changing the oil help? What can i do to fix this? replace the springs?
 
Just a sort distance above the shifter is a removable plate cover where you can adjust the clutch. First loosen (add slack) by loosening the cable barrel adjuster and then adjust the clutch under the removable plate cover. Then adjust the cable barrel adjuster to the correct slack.
