I have 2 12 inch alpine type R hooked up to a zx1000.1 amp and it doesnt sound good

You dont have enough power to them your only half way there. your type R's are 500 rms with 2 ohms while your amp gives out 500 rms at 4 ohms a piece and your kicker amp you have is over priced for the power your getting. And you cant bridge your amp because you only have one positive out put and one negative out out.
