I Had Speeds Of Over 80 Kb/s On Overnet!

guys get the gui, don't install any third party stuff during install, then go to page one of this thread, i have a pick of the loader you should download from overnet itself :lol:

you have no idea what you are talking about. bittorrent is not a p2p program really.. you cant compare the two. I mean yes technically its p2p but you cant search it.. its not a network. Its just a way to move files. Sometimes its fast.. sometimes its slow. you cant shoot down a whole p2p network cus it took you a long time to download one file..

To download at 186.5 KB/sec requires a connection that can at least go 1,500/128.

That's a 1.5mbps connection -- if not a little higher to ensure you can actually get 1.5mbps throughput not counting overheads.

His upload may in fact be higher than 128 kbps (16 KB/sec theoretical max -- about 14 KB/sec actual max) -- but most 1.5 mbps connections have at least 128 kbps on the upload side. Commonly, it is 256 kbps on the upload side for broadband connections.
 
I downloaded the file you circled in your jpg, but it just contains three files, a readme, def.html and reg.jpg - with no corresponding files in the overnet lite folder - and no .exe file - have I got the wrong thing? :helpsmile:
 
even though i am using kazaa for a while now, i noticed there are other programs that does the same thing but the only thing that is stoping me from using them is because they have been people saying that the program that you were using is detectable. i am just worry/scare that i might get cought. so, if you are saying taht you can tweak your overnet, i just want to know more about it so i can use that also. i have alot to ask and stuff so i just want to know that one first. (the how you tweak your overnet. can i tweak my kazaa lite?)

lol if you find the original thread you will see the school girl downlaod i did to show the person with emule whom i think was getting it at 20 or 30 that with overnet i could get it faster

Hopefully I got the right file this time (10k) and got the loader - copied it to the overnet lite folder, made a shortcut to desktop - but doesn't seem to do much, not even load overnet? ah well, I s'pose patience is a virtue... I can wait lol :P

one thing I have noticed which bothers me somewhat - my firewall tells me I keep getting my ports scanned - which never happened with kazaa lite - is this normal? :( :helpsmile:
 
Personally, I have tried almost EVERY big Network: EDonkey2k, Fasttrack, Gnutella, Bittorent, OpenNap. You name it, I have tried it.

I like Overnet, though, because there is almost the same amount of users as there is Fasttrack, but not laden with viruses and what-have-you.

While Bittorent is great, the problem is the amount of users and the ways to GET the files. The only way you can get them is with links. You can't search from the program itself, making it user-unfriendly, which is something that prevents people to joining to networks.

Anyway, I am happy with my Overnet Lite & Loader Combo. Max speed I have had was 120 KB/s (on a regular Cable line) :D
