I had an Australian couple as my guests at my home for two days. Is this behavior

part of their culture? They left and never sent me a thank-you note, or email, never called me to thank my hospitality. I was a good host, I treated them the best I could, I took them to sightseeing the city. I wonder if this is normal behavior in Australia, or if it's just rudeness on the part of the people I hosted.
