Im thinking about quitting this sport. But i dont want to seem weak to the other people or dissapoint my parents. My parents got me a pair of shoes for the sport that costed $100. and i dont want to quit for that reason either. Im not very good at the sport and i feel like i shouldnt be on the team. But then i think that if i quit ill seem really weak and worst of all dissapoint my parents. I could use the shoes for running and for pe [they arent cleats btw just saying]. But im not sure wha i should do. The coach doesnt make people quit, he lets them quit themselves. But im worried im not good enough and im not sure if its something i want to do.
Any advice? Should i talk to my parents about it?

First of all whats the sport? If it's soccer, basketball, or track stick with it. lol Imean unless you abolutly dont like it. Icould see why you wouldnt like track... run run run but if your not very good at it you should talk to your parents and get a personal trainer to help you or something. If kids think your weak dont listen to them who gives a care.

Well, there's two ways to look at this situation. If you quit, it may upset your parents some that they paid for something that you didn't follow through with, but sometimes that's just how life goes and you have to let it go. If you keep up with this sport, you may even have to spend more money down the road. You could also sell the shoes on the net or to someone else if they are unused and you don't want them. You are not weak and a disappointment for quitting a sport- I myself went through practically every sport that you can think of, which my parents spent quite a bit of money on. Not everyone is good at certain sports or athletic at all, that doesn't make you a disappointment, and besides, your parents should be proud of you no matter what. This brings me to my other point, after all of those sports that I tried and sucked at, I started cross country, which I wasn't very good at either, but I kept to it and got better. The great thing about running is everyone can do it, and everyone can get better, even if you have no athletic skills! Everyone gets better with practice- the reason most people are better is because they have done it since they were younger. I did track as well when I cross-country was over. I never became top-varsity, but I stuck with it for three years (all the rest of my high school years) and became pretty good, made lots of friends, and had lots of fun. It most importantly made me happy. Don't force yourself to do something to make others happy, even your parents. You should do whichever you think will make you more happy, it is up to you.

Yeah, for sure talk to your parents about it.

If you don't want to play, then don't!
But you shouldn't feel like you're a downer on the team, you should all be playing for fun, unless you're on a seriously competitive team.
You should be enjoying yourself! If you're not, then maybe it is time to quit, and/or try something new. You could always sell your shoes too. I use kijiji.ca when I want to sell something. Look into that website for anything you want to tell; it's pretty neat.. and, it's free.

Your parents shoudln't be upset at you for your choices. They should support you.

WHAT sport? Soccer, I assume?

Yeah, I would talk to your parents about it. Tell them how you feel about the sport, and how you feel you're not the strongest player. They may have better options rather than quitting that you could consider. You could also practice really hard to improve your skills, the better you are, the more you'll like and enjoy the sport.

Just remember, there's only one thing that can guarantee failure..and that's quitting. [:
