I hate RPGs (in general) and love RTS games. However, I've always liked the building aspect of RTS a lot and not so much the battles (although I do enjoy a battle or two). So I'm really looking for a game where I could develop an entire country/civilization with some battle mixed in there.
Seems like Civ IV would be a good candidate but then I also like being able to build up and continue building up in different sessions. I'm not sure that Civ IV really does that, and it also seems to hit a wall at some point where you run out of upgrades I guess.
Sim City 4 seems like another good candidate but no battling kinda sucks.
I've always enjoyed the AOE series so maybe I should get AOE3?
Any other good suggestions? It's kinda hard to describe what I like, it's probably a blend between the structure of RTS and the variability of RPGs. Is there some kind of God game or something?
