i am a 5'8'' I weigh about 150lbs, would this be a decent starter bike for me 2007...

That is indeed a very good deal. 600s aren't too bad to start on, just be very careful if you don't have much motorcycle experience. Personally, I started on a Kawasaki Ninja 250r (great bike) for a few months, and now I have a Yamaha R6. Still, a 600 is much better than outright starting on a 1000cc bike. Good luck!

ive rode bikes all my life, and that bike is alright but not the best, and it doesnt realy matter what size u start on if u think u can handle it give it a shot, i will remind you the zx6r tend to have clutch and fork problems, but otherwise its a good bike, plus the price is wonderful, i have a 2009 cbr1000rr

$2,000 is a steel. It is not a good beginers bike for anyone. However, take it slow and you should do just fine. It has a tremendous power to weight ratio and has the power at the high end. This makes it difficult to operate the clutch as it is easy to kill at low rpm's. The power also comes on rather suddenly. You should learn when to let off the power to keep the front wheel on the ground. You will find it to be a good highway bike. But don't be tempted to break the speed limit. It can develope high speed wobble and you should get at least a years worth of experience before pushing the bike. Keep the rpm's down and concentrate on safe operation while you are learning. The 600cc bikes can be more difficult to learn on that the liter bikes because of their tricky powerbands.
