How would I wire my Rockford 400S sub to a single JL 12w3?

I have a Rockford 400S amp that I have used for a few years. I recently just blew my JL 12w3 sub, which was also pretty old. I liked the sub/amp combo and am going to just order another 12w3 to go w/ the amp.

It's been so long since I messed with any of this stuff and I am not sure I correctly remember how I want to wire these things. I believe the 400S does 400w x 1 @ 4ohms.

Should I get a 4ohm 12w6? If so, how would I wire it to get the most out of the combo?

Thanks guys!

If I were you, I would just get the W3, they sound good with about a 400 or 500 watt amp. You would need a little bit bigger amp for the W6 and with that 400 watt you would under power the w6. As for the wiring just look it up on the JL website, it will show you how to wire from 4 ohms to 1ohm and get the most out of the amp.
