How to use a power distribution block? (Car audio)?

I am wiring my second amp into my ford explorer. Currently I have a JBL BP1200.1 1200 watt mono amplifier running off a 4ga power cable. The second amp I am installing is a 4 channel sony xplod for my door speakers. My question is if the distribution block is one 4ga input and four 8ga outputs. Will two 8ga power wires work the same as one 4ga power wire to the 1200 JBL? Then will I only use one 8ga output for my 4 channel amp and leave the 4th 8ga output empty? Thanks
