The horse I lease has always been a little nippy, but now more than ever. When I'm standing on the mounting block, he'll turn and bite my boots. I've tried smacking him on the neck but he usually does it while I'm in the process of getting on, which turns into me like, half falling off half hitting him. It does't work.
He also bites the cross ties when I'm tacking him up, and will nip at me while I'm brushing him. He also loves to chew on the reins when I'm leading him places, and occasionally will nip my hands when I'm leading him anywhere.
Suggestions? =/
