What resistors should i use and in what arrangement? Its for an external harddrive that runs off an ac adapter at 12v 2a. Car is a 2000 Mustang GT, if it helps.
the resistor you require is called a 2 amp fuse !
it is placed on the positive feed wire to the hard drive !
just make sure you need dc voltage and not ac voltage !
There is no need or any way to lower the amperage of a car battery. Any accessory will only draw the amperage that it needs and no more. Amperage is not like voltage. Amps is like the water in a garden hose. Volts is the pressure pushing the water out of the hose. The 12 volt adapter will handle whatever voltage requirements the hard drive needs.
