How to educate people about pitbulls?

I recently rescued a stray pitbull puppy. He is 8 months old and have named him Sonny. He is incredibly sweet and gets along with everyone he meets and other animals. I would love to use him (I hate the way that sounds) to educate people about the breed and show them how they really are in the right hands. What I mean, is I would like to take him to senior homes, children's hospitals/orphanage s, public events (not necessarily ones for dogs), etc and let people interact with him while I hand out information and talk to them about the breed.

Does anyone know how I can get involved like this?

I live in Alabama.

bred to be nasty for so many years....sad, but they are seen as dangerous dogs, I think some people still are attracted to these dogs for that reason and that reason alone......I'm in Australia and so often you hear of this breed attacking children, other dogs and adults going to the aid of victim......As for taking him to see people in homes or public events, I don't think that would be openly accepted...just in case........

i live in ca but sense he is a puppy i think he will be fine. just be careful with the seniors. my bff has a boxer and she is extremely sweet!
